What were his other mods? That seems kind of low for those two mods together? Kooks headers gave gains of roughly 30 rwhp in a header shootout done recently by a magazine...twinscrew is going to be your best bet for more torque or the nitrous as mentioned above.

If your willing to give up some top end power go 2 into 1 exhaust and do the conversion as soon as possilble from your exhaust manifolds. you will get some low end but you will give up some top end hp

SD, there aren't any off the shelf cams that are going to help low end torque that I know of. Most of the cams out there don't pick up power till mid to high rpm band and do lose at least a few ft/lbs below 3000, aka low end. Also he didn't specify whether he is wanting the extra torque to race with or just to have more grunt when tooling around town. Obviously nitrous wouldn't be a good solution for the latter.

I know. I don't typically use off the shelf cams unless the customer insists on them. A set of custom ground cams can do what he wants and aren't that much more money.

The laughing was over the "blanket statement" that is so prevalent on message forums.

Ah I see says the blind man. When I go with cams I am going to get custom grinds done too. I just wish I wasn't already near the limits of my fuel system so I could go for more power. Heads and cams would probably yield another 100-150rwhp easily on my setup. I may end up just doing stock cams with ported heads.

First of all I can help you improve your low end very cheaply, YOU NEED MORE GEAR. I find it interesting that cams "will lower your tq numbers",when I did my cams (stage2 SPR 127500's) and heads I picked up OVER 30 LB FT TQ on a Mustang Dyno thru an AUTO.
Question are your numbers from a Dyno Jet or Mustang Dyno?

Finally someone said it! change your gears, if you slapped 4.10s in that thing it would feel alot better :beerchug2:

He did say LOW END torque - not PEAK torque.

An aluminum DS will also get you moving quicker at lower rpm's.
