It's because the vendor took care of it BUT then MBRP declined their warranty claim so the vendor attempted to relcaim payment from me after the swap was already done.

This was after a phone conversation after they made the offer. MBRP was caught playing games. It was a scum bag move on their part and these pictures and threads are going to follow them for quite some time.

These were defective, the end.

They offered to replace your mufflers with the same muffler, if you thought that set was defective, and you liked the sound, why didn't you just get another set?

its all coming together now

Nothing is coming together other than your nut swinging.

MBRP did not offer to replace anything until after I had spoken to their rep and stated Summit already took care of it.

Summit stated, "let's not go down this path for another round in case it is a faulty product or a bad batch."

I never got in touch with MBRP until the following Monday, Mufflers exploded on a Saturday. I made the purchase through Summit, Summit replaced them.

I reached out to MBRP for the other damages as it was their faulty and poorly designed product. MBRP stated they would've replaced the mufflers if I had came to them first, I did not buy them through them and I sure as hell was not going to wait until Tuesday since they were all on some Canadian holiday that monday. Once I sent them the pictures and video of the damage, they vanished. Stand up company right there.

Fast forward to this Monday, I get a letter in the mail from Summit saying MBRP denied their warranty claim and they want full payment.

I rectify the issue with Summit and they just write it off.

In this event, MBRP is a dishonest company with a terrible product quality standard. They want to ignore their customers who have issues? That's fine, but this will be their most expensive lesson in customer service by the amount of customers they lose.

I have no dog in this fight and don't know you but wow, you really are coming across the wrong way; Seer has been nothing but a stand up guy on here, I don't know him either but your insunuations are loud and clear; did you look at the man's signature and car history on here? He has money; do you think he is hurting financially about the mufflers? It is the principle and a good stand up company would recognize that one dis-satisifed customer is not worth the bad publicity they are going to inhereit with it....maybe they are banking on the fact the 99% of the people out there just make empty threats but Seer is not and I don''t blame him one bit.

Let me give you an example; I had a set of Kooks high flo cats on my car; I was at the track, the passenger side cat let go and clogged my exhaust; luckily it was caught before I made another pass; I contacted Kooks, they asked me to ship the cat to them, they replaced it for me and sent it back....no questions asked, not bullshit excuses of it was the tune, a backfire, blah blah blah....now, maybe I got lucky and caught the right guy at the right time but in my one and only dealing with them I have nothing but good to say about them.

Did it cost them money? Yes. How much? No idea....but they have a happy customer who is letting everyone know how well he was taken care of by their company....fast forward to this situation where Seer was not taken care of and is letting everyone know the situation...not that I was in the market for an exhaust but if I was guess who would be number one on my I am not going to buy from them list? Yep, you guessed it....and how many perspective buyers did the company you are nut swinging for lose because of how they handled this?

^^^ if you go back a few pages, you'll see where he says his buddy is a MBRP rep or something, I'm pretty sure it was him, so there's his interest in this matter, and the reason for his obvious bias

I saw that....which to me makes MBRP look even worse....Seer had said if this wasn't handled properly he would post the pics everywhere he could so MBRP could have saved themselves a lot of headaches if they would have done the right thing.

MikeT has already stated he has a friend attached to MBRP. He will try to muck this thread. It won't work here. I won't support that company or a couple of others because of their business practice. Sorry for you situation Seer.

I just don't understand why in this day and age of instant information and the exchange of information why a company would risk their reputation and future business over 1 legitimate issue....

The funny thing is I actually honestly was considering their system as I like the sound of chambered mufflers, they are not an option for me any longer

I had my doubts about MBRP after that recent article in MM&FF with the white GT500. Not that I'm in the market for exhaust but I appreciate when guys post up their experiences with vendors/manufacturers. I've always been very satisfied with Summit. Never dealt with MBRP and now I probably never will

I've never heard of a muffler of any manufacturer coming apart like this without the use of a WOT box. There are thousands of high boost high horespower cars without WOT boxes that have never split open a muffler. Common sense dictates that the cause of this failure was the use of the WOT box and I'd be willing to bet MBRP hasn't had a single failure of this nature where no WOT box was involved. Seer is a smart guy and a good guy but I think he's dead wrong in his assesment that these were faulty mufflers from the manufacturer. Just my opinion....

I don't think any of the failed mufflers actual split. They swelled like a ballon, but didn't split IIRC.

Several on this very forum.....

Maybe I'm not searching good enough. I've said it many times the wot box was not initiated at their failure. Mbrp is saying my car was not tuned properly at partial throttle now according to what they said to summit.

So I guess Jesse rohr at mbrp is questioning ken bjonnes tuning. I find this absurd.

Why does it matter if they split or swelled up like a balloon? You can't expect the muffler to hold up past it's tested limits in any situation.
