Total cost for the install was $480 which included a new pilot bearing. The tech started Thursday and would have had it to me on Thursday evening but when he took the pressure plate apart we found rust on it? Took pictures and cleaned it up then sent more pictures to McLeod to look at. My concern was the rust even after we cleaned it up left a mark on the Pressure plate. I don't won't any noise or chatter so we waited until they emailed us back and said it was okay to install. I think the Ford tech said something like 5 hours total if he hadn't had to stop and start. I felt like it was fair, he is good and takes his time makes sure everything is perfect. One thing he did this time was he took the slave unit and depressed it and let it suck up some fluid before he installed it. Cut the bleeding time down considerably.

Ok so that question's answered, might as well order the aftermarket fw in my year model, since they are both the same. Now on to the next one...which flywheel? Lol Spec or Fidanza? Ofcourse, id like to get the Mcleod, but the price is insane!
I can afford paying a shop to install it, but I hate paying for labor. I've done a clutch job before on my 240sx, and I have the tools, the time but I dont want to screw this up.It's over a grand in parts alone, should I do it or let the pros do it right in a few hours? Im leaning more towards letting them do it (Triangle Speed Shop) Whatdo you guys think? I'd have todo it on my back on jack stands.

I just had the RST and a lightened steel McLeod flywheel installed a couple weeks ago. Great setup, but the flywheel is machined "deeper" and required the release bearing to be shimmed to allow the clutch to disengage. There is no mention anywhere in install documents of this so we had to talk to tech support and they confirmed there is an issue with fitment. They said there would be a kit offered by them that included all the installation parts needed in the near future. Not slinging mud at McLeod. This is an awesome setup. Really light clutch pedal, mega grip and the lightened steel flywheel really makes the engine feel snappy!! I wouldn't hesitate to do this setup again on another car, I just wish we knew about this issue in advance. It would have saved a lot of effort.

Thanks Rypper, I just spoke with Mcleod and they said that as long as the spec fw had a I.d. Of 6 1/4 inches then it would be fine. I spoke with spec to get the I.d. and its exactly 6 1/4 inches, so it should work fine. After doing alot of shopping around, I bought everything for a total of $1018! RST- $640, Tbearing-$109 and Spec FW-$269 all prices shipped. Now I cant wait to get it and get it installed!
Thanks for the help guys, I'll update when I have it done and my reaction to it, hopefully break into a few 12 sec runs!

Where are you measuring the I.D. My car is having issues with 2nd gear not releasing at lower speeds. Not sure if it is related to the issue with the Exedyflywheel and McLeod clutch compatibility. A picture or better description would be helpful. I have contacted Exedy for the complete specifications on their fly wheel, and I have contacted McLeod to see if they have any info. Car shifts great at normal speeds. Put the car in 1st and just let it idle around shift to 2nd and do the same and the car intermittently won't shift out of 2nd until you build some speed. Clutch pedal can be to the floor with the car stopped and it (shift lever) won't budge. It has done it 4-5 times. I'm nursing the clutch just in case. Are their certain specs when installing the clutch, slave. I had my local Ford dealer do the install so I assumed they would know?

thanks

DO NOT use a stock ford 05-09 flywheel with the RST/RXT. The inner diameter of the cutout is 7" on the ford flywheel.

DO NOT use an Exedy lightweight steel flywheel with the RST/RXT the inner dimension is 6 1/2".

I used the exedy flywheel and after about a 1,000 miles my car started getting stuck in 2nd gear and then in all gears. When we pulled the tranny out we found that the inner disc was not making contact on the inner 1/4". The disc and flywheel do not match up. I had to order an aluminum McLeod to make sure I wouldn't have this happen again.

I now have an Exedy light weight flywheel that I will have turned and then sell it and a stock flywheel that has been turned.

As stated earlier use a flywheel with a 6" or 6 1/4" inner diameter.
