Everytime I use it with a rotary buffer or a da the reflection is so bright that it almost blinds me. Anybody else have these problems.

Seer;Menzerna PO85RD is worse :( ;)[/QUOTE said:
Can you use the po85 without the power gloss, and do you need a sealant or carnuba after the po85. My paint looks good already. I just want good protection. I just want a mild polish with something that'll lock in the shine

Yeah I always use a sealant. then wax as well. It takes forever t get it done and it gets dust covered in a few hours but it sure looks good for a few hours.

I have these damn problems too :beerdrink:
Per Seers recommendation I took a non cutting finishing pad and finished it out even finer with the m205. Love it!!

It sounds like you are looking for an All in One. Look up Klasse and Optimum Poliseal. Both are great All in Ones (Ive never personally tried Klasse but love Poliseal). You could also try Blackfire AIO. I dont think they make a bad product!

Sucks because I bought some M105 and M205 based on Seer's recommendations as well but I've been troubleshooting a steering problem for two weeks and haven't had a chance to use them yet.

They will remove your defects and make your paint look great. Po85rd is a good jeweler.

All polishes and compounds require the use of a sealant or carnauba after for protection.

Only polishes that can protect are AIO's. Most AIO's do not remove defects as well as stand alone polishes. For well maintained vehicles though they are decent options.

For this I like Poli Seal or CG Black Light.

I heard some people say they use both carnuba and sealant together. Would that be logical? I was thinking I would use the po85 super finish with there sealant

Menzerna Power Lock is their sealant. Yes, a lot of people will seal the surface then after it cures apply a Carnauba on top.

Reason for this is, generally carnaubas will look better than a sealant. They are typically warmer, and have a deeper, rich wet glow to them. Whereas a lot of sealants are highly reflective.

PO85RD is a finishing polish. Meaning it has fine abrasives in it used to finish up a surface after heavier polishing/compounding. It also does a good job at cleaning up minor defects, but when you use any type of polish on a vehicle's surface it strips away whatever protection that was there.

Would that finishing polishing be safe for fairly new paint. My car from the factory has extremely minor swirls

Your car's paint from the factory is most likely in worse condition than you think. Rail car, and shipping, people brush up against them, road debris, moved around at the dealership etc.

Your car typically sits in a release lot at the factory for a few weeks before it makes its journey to your dealership. Buffing your paint is perfectly safe.

I get a lot of customers who buy brand new Ferraris, Lamborghinis etc, and the paint condition on those is still sub par for a vehicle with less than 200 miles on them.

I spent 6 hours pulling rail dust off a 2012 Porsche GT4S. It was in bad shape.

This is the car I did:
