I have a 2.6 KB intercooled system on my 08GT. I have thought about adding a snow water/meth kit to complement it on my race tune. Has anyone used this on an intercooled kit? Pros and cons please? Anyone doing it with a Kenne Bell? Thanks

Running 24 lbs of boost on pump gas with the methanol injection. KB mammoth.

It will let you bump up your boost considerably!

BBR makes all of the methanol plates for the blower.

Will the 3/4 in thick spacer put my 2.6 KB into the stock hood? Its already rubbin just barely on the hood liner on the tube to the TB.

If you have the 3/8" thick o-ring plate under your blower you can remove it. This will help with overall height.

You can also get the motor mounts from BBR that are 1/2" lower. If you do both of these things I think you should be golden.

As far as it raising the intake tube, I don't think it will be an issue.

i was running the snow meth kit with my vortech. Worked great at first but the kit starting going bad. Pump wouldn't spray when it said it was and all sorts of issues. Sometimes it would stop spraying in mid use. Bought all the safety equipment and still had issues. Ended up pretty much destroying my motor. I would stay away from Snow but this is from my experience.

What blower do you have? This will help us figure out what type of kit you need. It will only require a re-tune if your going to use Meth to try and make more power. A lot of guys run Meth as a safety feature in case they get a tank of bad gas or a lot of timing is being pulled because of sky high inlet temps.

I talked with Whipple about this and their reply was that they have found it best to inject the methanol between the throttle body and the blower.

Iv'e been wanting to add a meth kit too for safety. Does anyone make a under blower plate for the 2.3 Whipple?

I like the Alcohol injection Systems trunk mounted unit. If you go to their website they have a very comprehensive explanation of how it works, benefits etc.

Now that said, I have flirted with meth injection and get cold feet every time. I just do not like the way it is distributed in the manifold, which already has two inherantly lean cylinders.

If I did do it, I would probably add a JPC intake, which does a better job of evenly distributing air.

Yes, you would need a retune.

Whatever ou do, do plenty of homework before you make a decision.

Yes - from an email from Whipple when I asked the best place to put a meth/water nozzle:

"...between the TB and the SC. No issues"

I don't have meth on my car. I was just investigating it.

can you put it on a twin screw or TVS before the throttle body? like for whipple kit, edelbrock etc...

Great advise from a company that feels it's not necessary to relocate the IAT sensor to a location after the compressed air.

I am seriously considering meth injection when I up the boost and go forged. I am a little apprehensive about spraying it through the rotors though. The E Force blows air up through the intercooler by the IAT and then back down into the cylinders. I'm not sure of the best way to do it. I have also thought about a wet Nitrous system post rotor. Just don't know yet. I would like an honest real world 550rwhp in the southeastern summer heat and humidity.

there is a huge thread over in the corral tech section about methanol injection, I've been reading up on it. sounds interesting, sure would be nice to run a cooler engine especially in the summer.
