I'm thinking of getting the Meziere water pump along with the relay kit, but before that I want to know how reliable it actually is. Has anyone had any issues with it (especially the guys who've had it for over a year)? I'm thinking with it being electric, does it have a greater chance to fail than the stock pump?

Any info will be appreciated! Thanks.

I have had mine on the '06 for at least 4 years or better and never a problem of any kind. I bought a new one two years ago to carry in the trunk in case it ever goes..THAT is why mine will go on forever don't ya know!

4 years plus problem free.

I have had two on the mod motor, and one on the BBF.

They are a great company, they fixed my first one on the mod motor for free, as it was less then 1 year old. The pump didn't fail, as it was still circulating water--it was the bearing in the pulley that started going bad and making some noise at idle.

I think the problem I had with it was due to the high belt tension (whipple @ 18psi). I didn't have a problem with the second one, but it was an upgraded bearing part # meant for higher belt tension with the whipple / KB.

Thanks for the info guys! Very much appreciated. Another question, I've got the Steeda UDPs... do i need to change the drive belt too or will the stock belt work?

I also have the Steeda UDPs and I did have to get a different belt. I forgot the size BUT it should be somewhere in the archives.

Have had my for about a year or so, no problems.

Could always go with this setup! HD version of the electric water pump!

so there's an actual bearing that can be upgraded to help with the higher boost apps?

It's not about the miles, or even the "how long". It is about the number of hours in operation. If I remember correctly, they rate them for something like 3000 hours or so.
Don W. and I sat down one time and starting estimating how many hours a week our cars are driven, then how much that went in to 3000 hours. Ended up being like 4 years and 120k miles or something like that.

Having said that, I put one on in 2006. Put 30k miles on it. Never had a minutes trouble out of it. Only reason I don't still own it is because when I swapped motors I bought a new one with a smaller pulley to accommodate a Kenne Bell blower. So I sold the water pump with the block. And it is now in someone else's car and still going strong.

Thanks again! Looks like it'll be my next mod and later down the line a Misimoto/CX racing aluminum radiator & fans.

I seen the water pump with the smaller pulley for Kenne Bell blower cars. What is the benefit from it?

Nothing the pulley is just a free wheeler.

Yeah, but does it help with belt wrap or something I am missing. I run the stock electric water pump with my KB and had zero problems from it. Fit was perfect, no problems with KB on the car.

The pulley size difference is to allow the WP pulley to clear a Kenne Bell tensioner. No, it doesn't do shit for belt wrap. If nothing else it makes it a little bit worse because the pulley is smaller by a half inch or so.

The standard 4.3v pump is a wp346s, and the one designed to work with the Kenne Bell tensioner is a wp347s

Gotcha, that was what I was thinking on the belt wrap. Was tring to figure out why anybody would run the smaller pulley water pump.
