You can make as much power as your want with stock heads and cams, provided you throw enough boost at it and have the right fuel for it. I'm making 715rwhp through stock heads, cams, and intake manifold with my 302 stroker. Just takes north of 25psi to get there. With the same boost with h/c/i I'd be looking at 850 or so.

You could get an air freshener. But really all the ideas in here are good. I really like the one about swapping out the v3 for the 8 rib and blower cams.

Correct me if I'm wrong but won't the OD pulley get you into boost faster because of the belt spinning faster at lower RPM's? That seems to be a great upgrade for our type of blowers where we have to wait for the boost, plus it will give you more belt wrap.
I'm also in your place with upgrades. I'm going to wait until I can max the car with what I have at the track before cutting to big of a check that my butt can't cash (hand, eye, foot corrdination keeping it off the wall haha).

Thanx for this info man. Hey, are you still on your stock valve springs?

Just replaced my freshener 2 weeks ago haha :beerdrink: As of right now I think I'm going to look into a 10% OD crank pulley....

Holding back power. Car still rev's to 7500rpms if I want to but power peak is about 6200 and the graph on the dyno gets erratic after that. Its not spark blowout or detonation so that leaves valve float.

Mike,

I heard folding down your rear seat gives +50whp lol. In all seriousness, take a look at other blower options that the guys on here are recommending

Ok guys, July 5th my car goes back onto the dyno to have the 302E tuned. I think I have a decent parts list of mods to go on the car for the dyno.... Just wanna have you guys throw some ideas out there if I missed something... He's what I have to go on the car before its tuned...

Motor- 302E stroker built by JDM. 1000hp rating
Blower- Vortech V3
Mods
-FRPP manifold
-2.87" pulley
-SCT BA5000
-Blow thru piping with Tial Q 50mm BOV
-60lb injectors
-GT500 pumps with dual FPDM's
-L&M 62mm TB
-UPR catch can
-Hooker super comp long tube headers

Now Im on the stock heads and cam's so I know thats a option but when I assembled the motor this winter I just didnt have the extra money to throw at the heads so thats out of the question.... No way in hell am I pulling them off for ALONG time unless I have a major mech failure hahaha...
SO poar it on, what else can I throw on this thing to take advantage of the motors hp rating? Am I pretty much limited to the stock heads/cams CFM rating?

Your comfortable rev'ing it past 6500 RPM at that power level with the stock springs?

Stock heads and cams can take you far. I would definatly get better valve springs tho. Another thing, you will be maxed out on your 60lb injectors at around 600hp. I had to switch to 80's as well as a GT500 KB Boost-a-Pump to make more than 750. Currently I'm at 823rwhp and 840rwtq with and auto and stock heads/cams/intake/tb/manifolds

Hasn't caused an issue yet, though I do shift at 6500 RPM right now. If I don't sell soon I'll be saving money for valve springs and delete the cam timing too.

If you guys are going I will go soon just to watch even my car isn't ready for the strip yet.
I'm 20 min from e-town.

btw from a few sources the 3v valvetrain is good to 6800 rpm. 7k gets a little iffy.
I've personally been shifting at 6500-6700 for 2 years.
