ok i am getting a forged block ( i think aluminator from frpp). the will be driven 4 days a week. i race 3 times a week. i run 93 octane

1. if i am tuned (stock block, exhaust) with 454hp/435tq. When i change blocks can the tuner add a couple degrees of timing, without anything else changing and add about 30hp?

2. i was thinking of a different cam but i want the car to sound stock. so if i got ported heads instead and left the rest of the car the same will that add about another 20hp over adding the timing?

3. i have heard that with the gt500 fuel pump and 39# inj. i could see 500 rwhp and be ok, does that sound right?

Yeah you can push 500rwhp on a stock shortblock but your gonna be a ticking timebomb. Your better off going with that built shortblock. And with the built shortblock I recommend the GT500 fuel pump setup and a more hefty injector such as a 60#er. Then you can up the boost and head for the 600rwhp mark if that saleen allows you too without any issues. The bigger fuel system and injector just gives you more room to play.

You can go with a mild cam that doesnt have a huge sound difference and pick up good power without the "cam" sound. A good blower cam with the Saleen could yield a 40+hp power gain without any issues, ported heads would then further add to that.

Im sure US-1 and some other more expierence engine builders will be chipping in shortly.

Dont bother, get a smaller blower pulley and run a couple more lbs of boost or a 10%/18% overdrive crank pulley will do the same. Then tweak the tune in.

Ported heads 2500$ 20-30 hp(no thanks!), cams 700$ 20-30 hp, go with cams and upgrade the valve springs, i would reccomend 127300 or the 123750 blower grinds(stock sounding cams)

Pushing it.. Get some 60lbers and call it a day.
