I love Fairmont Futuras. I want to build one. They just didn't survive in NY, so if I ever get one I gotta go South and/or West to get one.
True fact for NY... these cars had aluminum bumper held on by steel bolts. This, along with a little road salt, basically created a battery and drove corrosion around the bolts until the bumber litterally fell off the cars. This was happening on 6 year old cars. It was very common to see a Fairmont with wooden planks added for bumpers.
A V8 Fairmont in 1980 weighted ~2800 lbs. A real factory lightweight.
