A reworked 3650 will never be as strong or smooth as a stock 6060. The gears are smaller on the 3650 and they are the next weak link once the input shaft is upgraded.

Something to think about.

G force is actually making a new gear set for 3650s you can get face plated. Supposed to be as strong as a TKO

I dont have pricing yet on it.

G force is real excited about it

Well, here goes the update....

I am building this car to compete in some local Mean Street races, True Street and be a class filler in some Ultra Street races.

Going with the same 302" shortblock
Swapping Fastlane Stage 2 heads and 127450's for a race port set of heads and custom turbo cams
It will be getting a billet 80mm
Billet intake manifold
Intercooler that goes behind the dash
PTC powerglide and converter
Cobra Jet 9" swap
Big Stuff 3 computer setup

I'm sure the updates will come faster hopefully and more abundantly as the week's ahead.

Thanks guys. The billet intake and billet 80 technically bump me out of Ultra, but I'm mainly wanting to enjoy some NMRA stuff. Mean Street rules locally call for 3k pounds and a 275/60. Usually have a cap on the ET around 5.20-.30. Hopefully I can run close to that

Well, took a turn alright...

I wasn't planning on spending loads and loads of money fixing the wrecked portion since I would be saving weight etc. After some checking, getting a salvage title in Alabama is apparently an act of congress and would cost me thousands I wasn't going to spend.

So heres an update for you... I traded the 08 tonight for a mint 2000 GT roller. Car is an arrow. I will have to grab some pics this weekend when it's light out. I am going to continue this build thread since I will be installing all of the parts listed above in this 2000. Stay tuned...

Bummer it was going to cost so much to title the 08'. Should be a cool build still.

Anything not going to fit the 2000?

Little Update....

After talking to a local State Trooper, the courthouse and a few others, looks like I will be able to get it titled after all. I have been working on it like crazy the past couple of days since I've had time off from work. I will update with pics this week.

Thanks man. It's going to be a long haul, but I hope to make a debut in Bradenton in 2015 in True Street.

Update 1/6/14....

Well after some thought process and brain storming, I decided to tear down the 302". I'm going to be selling the block and pistons eventually and keeping the 3.80" crank and 5.85" rods to go in a boss block to build a 326".

Once I got to looking at the 3V power adder list closer, I noticed that there wasn't a single nitrous only car anywhere in the top 38... With me liking to be different, we've decided the 326" will be around 11.5-12:1 compression. Stage 3 heads, Cushman Motorsports stage 3 cams and a C&L manifold plumbed with a nasty looking fogger setup. Going to be throwing anywhere from 250-275 and maybe 300 at it. Car will be equipped with a powerglide.

I have some pics of the engine tear down and some interior removal in the car. Progress on the car will be slow for a few more weeks since I have a guy seeking me a front end for a reasonable price.

Well, long story short, front end parts for the 08 are basically impossible to find around my area.... Plus, the cheapest parts I had found were $2,600... I sold the 08 and grabbed another roller for a project.... I will be posting pics as the build continues. I have lots of parts on the way and will post pics as they come in.

Hope you guys enjoy this build....
