First off, I should never have ran on this 2 1/4 mile road course with a 200 foot elevation change because I am hooked. I have run autocross for 14 years and I thought that was fun. Some of you said I will be hooked, you were right.

Max speed 213 kms or 132 mph at the end of the straight. Brakes shot by the end of the day and 108 miles later, but did their job very well. All mustangs at this race, only passing on the straight when directed. I caught up to and passed every car in the intermediate run group which was very surprising. One thing was obvious, if you hit your apex correct, you will gain on people quickly.

On the lower section of the track there are some sweeping corners and a sharp rise that you go over. At the top of the rise going about 105mph, the steering wheel felt like it came off in my hands because the car was so light on the track, that was very strange feeling. Kind of like your power steering got a boost of power.

Just some pictures, videos will come later with some cool angles using my Hero HD camera. By the way, the suction cup mount stayed solid on the outside of the car at those speeds no problem. The pictures are big so you can zoom in if you want.

One poor old guy had a beautifull 68 Boss mustang and blew his engine on the 3rd lap of the first run. He sent me a picuture that will make you cringe. It is in a weird format, I have to work on that pic.

Pacific Raceway is a nice track. 2 1/4 miles is a huge course, I bet you had fun.

Agreed..I love it there. Kills me that I'm not going to make it there at all this year! It's fairly long and technical, and the elevation change and surrounding greenery is great. I've even heard people call it the "Baby Nurburgring," although I can't comment on how far of a stretch that is..

We warned you.

So far I've run one Auto-x and about 20 track days so you can tell where my heart is.

My last date was July 14 and I'm already having withdrawal symptoms.

+1 on open tracking. I've done 6 auto-x events, and I while I love it, it's kind of just training for the big track.

Although, the only track I've ever gone to (River's Edge in Mission, BC) is only 1.4miles, with a straight away speed of roughly 170km/h. Some of the Americans who came up said it's like a "glorified autocross track". I've only had 3 track days, but goddamn if those weren't some of the greatest days of my life.

I must visit Pacific Raceway/SIR, and Portland someday, only problem is, how the hell do I fit 4 extra wheels, a jack, tools, and travel gear in the Mustang?!?

Replace the spare with one of the tires and then fill the trunk with tools and one other tire. Drop the rear seat backs down and put more tools and two tires in the back. No passenger and pack light!

A lot of guys that participate in HPDE at the road courses purchase a small tire trailer w/ tool box. Here are the items you'll need if you want to go with this option:

(1) Hidden Hitch
(2) 2" Ball
(3) Electrical Harness (Lights)
(4) Hull-Master Trailer

Here's an example:

I have a Trailex aluminum car trailer that I pull behind my F250. The tire trailer above is an example of what a lot of guys do that don't want to spend the money or have the space to keep a car trailer. I use to tow a similar tire trailer behind my vette before I purchased the Trailex. I like the Hidden Hitch design. Another benefit of this setup is you can fabricate a tow hook that can go into the receiver for while you're on the track! This tow hook works on a 1 1/4" hitch.

Good to see you on here. You and your car were very fast, I think I'm still car sick! LOL. Anyway, thanks again for the ride.

that is a trailer for a miata for a mustang a few things change you want 12 inch tires and you can not stack the tires the way they did them because they will be to wide.

here is a pic of my car with the trailer and every thing

Looks good. You're exactly right, which is why I recommended the larger trailer on the Harbor Freight website, which allows you to stack your tires (2 high side by side) depending on the size/width of the tire you use.

OR do what I did... Buy the 40x48 trailer from Northern Tools, cut the damn thing in half, and extend the width by 8-9"... I fit four 18x9.5 rims with 275 tires four across, and have a pickup bed box in front of them... Particular thanks to John (Philostang) for loaning out his welding skills, since mine usually result in holes, rather than beads...

Unistrut (Superstrut A1200 specifically) is a virtually perfect fit on the inside of the factory frame rails of the trailer, and we used 3/16" angle plate for the axle. That and a bit of rattle-can work, and it looks pretty decent.

LMAO i learned to weld on my trailer. that is a good idea but i would not feel good about my welds holding up the middle of the trailer.
