How's it going,

I could really use some help. I have a 2007 GT, last week I started to have some steering issues, I have no idea if its the rack and pinion, power steering pump... I need help.

Symptoms:

-No power steering when turning right, turns fine going left.

-when turning the steering wheel from right to left I hear a small single click/clunk noise.

-when steering wheel is turned to the left I get a loud hissing noise from somewhere under the hood.

Does anyone have any idea what the heck is going on?

Thanks

Have you checked to see if the belt hops off the snake ring? If the snake ring flys free, then that would cause hissing.

Silly question here. Have you looked under the hood? If so have you checked the fluid level for ps or have you noticed fluid all over the place? More than likely you have a punctured or otherwise compromised line/component.

Headers? Often times headers will rub against the steering linkage.

Just had this issue. It's more than likely the rack. The gear box has issues and can cause the assist to not be equal or cut out all together. Even just on one side. Very dangerous in an emergency. If you replace the rack it's recommended to replace the pump too.
