Well i didnt have many options. Looking back I wish I would have just eaten the shipping costs and sent it to either 281 Motorsports or Brenspeed.
Oh well. There always has to be a first. At least they are taking care of me. Great customer service...

Just an FYI, 281 Motorsports is not a 'shop' and is nothing like Brenspeed in pretty much every category. That's not to say ANY shop, including Brenspeed, does not make mistakes (I have had problems with both companies).

It all boils down to: how long will it take, will they make mistakes right, and what is the cost.

Glad everything worked out for you in the end. You know what they say...(good thing you have the forums :thumb: )

.

Because when you are the customer and you know more about the car than the 'shop' owner, that does not build a lot of confidence in my book. And when you have to farm out all your work, that does not make you a shop. I like guys that can wrench better than I can. Otherwise why is my money going to them?

I have my reasons, as I have spent a lot of time and money with both companies, as well as others. Maybe I'm just too picky, but I really don't give a shit. It's my car, not theirs.

Again, glad that shop helped you out with what they could, and even more glad there are guys like these on the forums!

And the fun continues....
I think I might be off a tooth on one of the cams. I datlogged and there is a difference in cam angles between the two. The car does hesitate a little above 2500 rpms.
Its either that or the shop didn't time the car correctly in the first place.

I can't find anything in internet world that explains what "CAM ANGLE CAM[0] vs CAM ANGLE CAM [1]" means and which side is which?

I am getting tired of all this...

One tooth equals 8.6 degrees (360 degrees divided by 42 teeth) so I doubt they are off by a tooth.

So I guess I rule out the timing is off??? looks like 4 degrees from the datalog??? That would be good news.

I'm not an expert with logging this car on the SCT (yet :) ), but to me it looks like they are 2 degrees off, not 4. You can't look at just one snapshot under the 'current' value column. Look at the diff. between max, min, and avg.

I am thinking it is not the cams...just the tune..took a little spark out and the popping is gone...moving in the right direction...

So new issue...wondering if i should be concerned..
So I decided to drive the Saleen to PHX this weekend ...it is hot today like 104...hot
Went into a store and came out about 1/2 hour later the car wouldnt start. Would crank but not fire. After fully pressing the pedal it fianlly started. I noticed the IAT gauge reading pretty hot and smelled a little antifreeze. Popped open the hood to find the IC boiled over and coated the engine. I hear the pump working. Should I be concerned or jist chaulk it up to the hot temps? It ran fine ave around 140 yesterday driving in the same heat...

Also noted the boost guage jumping around between 0 and 2 psi but settles and reads accurate during acceleration.

Any suggestions?

I am thinking the pump might be going bad???
Was your IAT normal when driving?? If the pump was weak your IAT should be higher than normal due to the coolant in the I/C not circulating. Saleen boost gauges are junk...mine will sit on 1 or 2 psi not under boost.
