I have a 2008 GT and I'm noticing there's a new strange electrical sounding moaning noise that starts as soon as I start the engine until the car fully warms up. Additionally, the battery indicator is turning on and off, I took it to Autozone and they said the battery wasn't charged enough to test the alternator. The code is P0622 (generator field/F terminal circuit). The car tonight had a very strong burning smell and the whole electrical system turned off while driving down the interstate, but the engine was still running fine and its a manual transmission so I was able to shift fine. Pulled over and had to get towed and electrical system was going crazy after it was parked until the battery fully died. Any advice or ideas that could be the problem?

the cars systems runs on constant voltage ,,
so if it aint getting the proper voltage ,, nothing will read correct,

what you are describing is exactly what happens when the alternator goes out.

the alternator isnt putting out the volts to keep everything going ,so in turn you are getting crazy thing happening ,..

replace or rebuild the alternator

I'm having the same issues with my '05 5-speed. I'm on my third alternator. I've added a dedicated ground from the alternator to the shock tower, found a crimped wire on the three-wire connector on the alternator that goes to the PCM, and went ahead and replaced the connector, along with resplicing the bad part of the wire, and it is still throwing the P0622 code. My alternator is actually putting out nearly 14.5 volts when everything is running, so it is not an undervoltage issue.

The smell was one of two things (or both). Your voltage regulator fried inside the alternator, or your battery is about to boil over, because once the alternator fails, the car runs straight off the battery and will overload it, causing the sulfuric acid to boil. My battery was swollen the first time it did this to me.

What you guys need to do is get an alternator for a 2010. I went through 5 alternators before I figured this out.
