Hit up the track yesterday (auto club/california speedway) with some friends and was having some problems with the nitrous system.im running a 2006 mustang gt,with a few bolt-ons and a 100 shot...its the zex wet system wit the window switch from 3k-6k rpm at wot, well first run:armed but never sprayed...second run:this is the run wherer if anything got fucked up it might of happened on,to start, dumb ass guy lit the tree befor i was even staged so dont even know what rpm i launched at jus floored it and dumped the clutch, felt and heard the hit,but cuz of the fuck up start think i shifted a lil late, between 6-6500 rpm, then dont think it sprayed after that (in 2nd and 3rd),so i jus shut the system off half track, didnt think anything of it though...third run:eek:nce again armed but no hit...after that decided to diconnect lines and see what was going on...fuel line spraying correctly but nitrous line was sputtering in a weird way. so need some help on whats going on...first off i dont have a purge yet so thinking maybe air in the lines, but not sure, also thinking solenoid,or maybe some type of wiring issue, maybe tps not reading wot properly???but :question:any suggestions???

It sounds like you may have something in the line. Take of the CAI and hit it to the floor and have someone looking to see if it is spraying. Not to close to the CAI. IF you are getting nitrous you may have a issue with to much pressure. Zex solenoids do not like to much pressure. 900-950 is a good rule of thumb. If you are not getting Nitrous you need to blow out the lines with a compressor. I would check for broken line also. You would hear a leak though at 900 psi. So that is doubtful. Which window switch do you have? I hope it is not the MSD.

it sounds like your rpm window switch is not working right. i would disconnect it and work the zex kit a cuple of times by itself so that really know when its spraying. after you do that try again and go over the window switch over and over to make sure you get it right.

also the zex solenoids would lock only at over 1150 1200 psi. 900 to 1100 is fine wether you have the small or big solenoids.

make sure that the window switch is conected right, that you are getting signal from the injectors

you could have had the bottle pressure too high. i know on one of my previous cars with a zex kit, the nitrous solenoid wouldnt open above 1050psi at the bottle.

are you 100% sure the gas was spraying? take out the window swtich, disconec the intake tube from the throttle body and turn the nitrous kit on, swtich the key to the on position without starting the car and push the pedal. make sure the kit is spraying. did you program the box right?

if not try to smell the box u may screw something up and burn the cables inside. this happened to the idiot that sold me my kit and i hat to open the box and solder new wires.

I mentioned above to remove the CAI to see if he was getting Nitrous. My solenoids locked at 1150,the thing is it was up to 1250 before I cooled it to 1150. So your saying I can spray at 1100 , because I tried that also and it did not like it. Maybe with 2 bottles?

i try to run always at 1100. release the preassure of the line itself and the try again. remember those little gauges are not 100% accurate.

So release the pressure of the line when it gets over 1100 ,is that what you mean?

bottle pressure was something i was thinking of at first,i knew that the zex solenoids didnt like the extremely high pressure...wheather was well over 100 degrees,so me and a buddy of mine were keeping the bottles iced down, pressure was usually at 900 with ice on it before runs, then after waiting in the staging lanes and after the actual run, around 1100...so right now im doubting it could be that unless the solenoid is malfuntioning altogether...im running the granatelli dual window switch...and im sure it was spraying fuel...basically what i did was unhook both lines running into the intake elbow, armed the swith and in idle floored it and had a friend check if they were spraying...fuel did, nitrous had a sputtering effect...

OMG I would`nt have anything Granatelli on my car much less a window switch. Look into a better switch like Harris . I have a suspision you have a clogged line as well as a messed up switch. REMOVE the window switch and see if it sprays,if so it is the switch. If not than it is a clogged line.

ok well i jus tried it again right now, bottle pressure a lil over 900,below 1000...same sputtering effect...but i did notice that the system is spraying before the rpm range!as soon as i floored it,well befor 3000,it starting sputtering nitrous...so right now im leaning towards the window swith...gonna try what was suggested, unhook the window switch and see what happens...then go from there.
