Ok, I caved in after PMs and countless people on here recommending a catless mid-pipe on a FI car. I'm running the stock Whipple tune and I have NC inspections to deal with. Hypothetically, I'm planning on using two stacked non-foulers like people have mentioned. But through searches on these forums and others, I can't find anyone with FI on a S197 using non-foulers. The Whipple tune is fat from my understanding, so I planned on using a idea I found on the SRT forums using steel wool (fine grain) packed into the lower nonfouler (the one that isn't drilled out for the O2 sensor).

I guess I hailing people with FI using these things and to see if the steel wool is necessary. I rather not have it due to having less things go wrong. South Carolina is starting to look like a better place to live.

Off-road H-pipe will be installed Monday.

Why not try getting it inspected before you install the O/R H pipe? I went through hell trying to get the Hot Rods and Kooks with catted X pipe to pass inspection. I kept failing due to the rear O2s not being ready. Went back and forth with my tuner even getting an emissions tune with no luck. I eventually gave up and went outlaw until I installed the Whipple. Got it from Lethal with the custom Jon Lund tune. Believe it or not, I passed with this setup, Whipple, Hot Rods, and Kooks with a catted x-pipe.

A friend here eventually got it done with two sets of non-foulers on a KB car with LTs.

What year is your car? Some 05-06 cars get through with the rears turned on, but without throwing a code.

Edit: Nevermind, saw it in the sig. You may want to just give the OR mid a try, leave the O2s in and on, and see if it throws a code.

Well I have to have them on to pass in NC. So I hope this works.

Edit: I see that you understand my position (NC). lol.

I have no cats and running a pypes o/r h. Stacked 2 non foulers on both of my rear O2's, loaded my shitty diablosport vortech tune since it's a 50state carb legal tune. Of course my car ran like crap but I stayed out of boost and never went up 3500rpms while doing the obd drive cycle, worst 2 days of my life. Got all emission monitors ready! no cels and took it to my buddy's PIF. Told him to just close his eyes and do not do a visual under the car :naughty1: just plug in the machine and it passed!off the hook for 2 years.

I'm getting nervous about my MD inspection coming up this year. I got the 02 foulers stacked two high at the moment and It through a sensor code the other day after putting 300 miles on it with the new setup. I'll clear the code and see if it pops up again... but I really hope that I don't have to jump through hoops in the end to get this thing to pass.

I didn't think that MD checked if the rear O2s are turned on as of now.

One O2 is the primary reading, the other two are the "rear" or "downstream" O2 sensors.

On the passanger side the one closest to the manifold is the primary. the other two are considered the rear O2s
