Just a quick question if I remember the stock valves are decently strong is this true or should I use some better valves for the build.

I can't think of it ever being a problem. There have been so many high hp 3v builds that I'd think it would be a common knowledge thing.

When are you starting the twins and is there going to be a new thread for it? I really liked the prototype layout of the twin kit that was posted elsewhere and I'm really looking forward to seeing this build.

Ill have it all in this thread and Bobby ordered my turbos a few days ago as soon as he finishes the layout on his car ill get a prototype kit and help make sure there aren't any bugs to be worked out. I will post very detailed pictures.

Yeah iv never heard of the valves being a problem honestly I may possibly leave the stock ones especial since ill always be using E85 and detonation won't be an issue.

Stock valves will be fine unless you turn some serious rpm. The exhaust valves are already a super alloy like inconel. The intake valves would be the ones I would change if you want new ones. I have Manley stainless intake valves and stock exhaust valves in my cnc ported heads. The main benefit from aftermarket valves will be that they are undercut on the head to flow better.

So my engine builder decided to use gas ported pistons, any information on this would be appreciated because im unsure about what that even is.

I dont know much about gas ported pistons but they don't seem to be very common on street driven cars.

Edit: This is from ross pistons.

Gas ports allow cylinder pressure to go directly behind the top ring and aid in sealing. Gas ports are very effective when used with tight ring grooves and high ring positioning.

I called weisco and they said it helps keep the top ring sealed under high combustion pressures in power adder applications
