RIP - You will be missed
Backpressure coming from behind the catalytic converters is meaningless at 30 mph in 2nd or 35 in 3rd.

I don't know if the exhaust system on the 2012's is welded or not, but if it's clamped together like it is on the earlier cars the dealership cannot require its replacement to be welded.

I came from a fully bolt on 135i with 100% denatured alky and the dealer still had my warranty ready to go when ever. Idk why ford would be such crappy people to deal with, what a shame to the 5.0 engine IMHO

What I've learned in the past is that almost every dealer will try to deny your warranty service if you have any modification or even have a slight inclination that you race your car. It's sux but Im guessing its because they dont make too much money of warranty jobs. So for me, once my warranty ended, thats when I started to mod my car lol.

warranty is so dealer dependent - I had a local dealer (no closed) that rebuilt the 3650 in my 2006 under warranty -with a blower on the car

Let me tell those that are not in the know... warranty work is not very profitable. Ford dictates the labor they will pay and it's often substantially less than the dearlers posted labor rate. Dealers cannot mark up parts either. At least that's how it was 3 years ago hen my Dad closed his Ford dealership.

When ford had a problem with injectors in diesels Ford charged my father's dealership something like $125 ea. and sent him a set of 8 even though he didn't order them. When Ford finally acknowledged it was a design flaw they supplied the same part for an invoice of like $78 I think it was.

He told me with the reflash it fixed. "Pcm had a re program available, performed reflash cleared codes and road tested 3 times" what the receipt says. Plus the codes i listed. Im going to test drive it on my way home now.

Be glad you didn't have a tune. They would tag your car as an engine that could not be warrantied.

A misfire could have been a glitch in the ignition map.

Wtf, they blamed it on the muffler delete, they said it was a backpressure issue. The only kit they know that works good they said it was borla only one he was aware about, also told me ford sent over a new reprogram for my pcm and tech was driving it now.
Find a different dealer and service dept.

Im a tech at a ford dealer. I will tell you ford warranty pays close to nothing..
Straight commission

Customer pay diag- 1.0 hour
warranty diag- 0.2 hour ( if nothing wrong then we do not get paid nothing.)

Customer pay job that pays 4.0 hours
Warranty maybe an hour at most.
Its not dealer dependent. Ford warranty is the same all around

I would not do any of that stuff to your car until this issue is straightened out. That stuff will definitely void your warranty.

If you are worried about the warranty, why in gods name would you remove the cats, and go O/R pipe?
