wtf suddenly the forum is full of cops.
unas2k5, how much change did you have in your pocket at the time?

He said he would answer any questions pertaining to the failure and that is what we are doing. NO ONE has given any insight as to what they were doing and what they have done with the car up until this guy. He gets props in my book for answering these questions. Go back to 3v tech for a bit and let the 4v owners talk.

Interesting... i could be wrong but most of these cars that have failed have been the emailed tunes with no checkups by datalogs.

I haven't heard of a dyno tuned car fail. There's this one post, I provided a link to in my thread @ the mustang source of another #8 failure. American muscle has cylinder 8 warrantys on their tunes.

^^^^ This. All you other 3V guys who want to poke fun or run your traps about the 5.0 need to take a step back and let us 5.0 guys try and learn what happened to this guy's motor. He's a stand up guy in my book who is being honest about what happened and isn't trying to hide something like all the others who have had this motor failure.

Right. I remember the very first thread about the #8 failure and i think it was the very first documented case (on the internet). It was this guy:

http://www.svtperformance.com/forums/2011-mustangs-354/770776-engine-carnage-8-5l-kryponite.html

He in fact had an email tune. Also notice the date its when the weather started getting hot. Also, he said his AFR was around the 13 mark. Now lets fast forward in time and all of these newer tunes and the tunes that are being revised are around the 12.4-12.6 mark. I know i datalogged mine yesterday and it came in at 12.5 on both bands. Another pull was at 12.6. This did not start rearing its ugly head until the summer time. Late last summer there was really no tuning software available for these cars so i think thats why this summer this is starting to become an issue due to leaner AF ratios and also the warm weather.

I could be off base on this but this is just what i think.

Oh boy, the 5.0 guys are coming down from their Tower of Gods to warn the 3V guys to back off.

Wowowowowowowowwow. None of the 3V guys could possibly know what is happening to these 5.0's because they are so unique and godly and special.

There's a thread started yesterday at themustangsource where everyone with a 5.0 tuned or not are asked to provide a picture of their #8 plug. What's being looked for is evidence that #8 is running lean which would cause detonation and ultimately lead to piston failure...

I don't mind intelligent insight. However, this is not an intelligent and enlightening post:

I think everyones input is helpful...If it's on topic and in an effort to solve the issue.

There has been plenty of Off-topic posts from everyone, not just a specific crowd.

Last I checked, fdjizm has posted relevant information in the 3 dozen topics of 5.0 # 8 failures.

It's getting to the point where know one, including the all knowing 5.0 guys have found anything truly relevant to the failures.

It does appear, that this does not happen on Stock Cars. Only on modified cars.

To be fair... I had a Brenspeed 93 tune on my 2010 with zero issues.

Not about being fair. These issues were not on the previous 4.6 3V motor. At least not in the later year models.

Hell, I've had two 3V cars, with multiple tunes on each car, and no issue. I've also had 2 4V cars, same thing.

I'm beginning to think Tuners are not dumping enough fuel @ WOT with these 5.0's. Obviously this is just an opinion, so don't take it to heart.

Tune is the most important thing.

Clearly, if a Stock car isn't having these issues, but cars with modified tunes are, that is saying something.

Wow it's getting really tense now huh?
This is not the first time the issue has occurred, you act like if the guy says he pushed the pedal to the floor you are going to say "ahh no wonder" and have some sort of moment of clarity all you are going to find out was how he drove it, which doesn't matter because he should be able to drive it how we are supposed to drive mustangs.

I'm glad he is open to answering questions but you aren't going to scientifically get anything out of it. I'll wait and see, till then let me take my 3v owning ass out of here before i get a caps lock busted on me.

get this through your brain so you can sleep at night...

BMR posted that they did 924 tunes and ZERO failures... That is saying something!

All of the tuners are going to post up stating they have had problems, yet people have posted about BBR, Brenspeed, Evo, Lund, where there have been a few issues.

I believe it was also BMR that even said their S/C 5.0 was not having issues. Sure it wasn't, they were dumping fuel into the motor.

There's no need for that... If there's a post that you don't like just ignore it. I didn't mind your earlier posts about the change I thought it was pretty funny...lol I was being interrogated haha.

:beers:
