Here's the scoop.

I recently purchased a product(rear side marker reflectors) from American Muscle. Well, they, as always, shipped them out right away and I recieved them within 2 days. I purchsed the clear ones with the intent to tint them. Well, this week, I finished tinitng them and this evening was putting them back on when I relaized they shipped me 2 left side markers. Obviously it's like having 2 left shoes......

Well, a little perturbed, I made a call to them and explained they made an error in shipping them and asked if it was possible to get a second set. I was told that it was my responsibilty to test fit them before tinting them. And since I already tinted them, they were unable to give me a refund/send me a new set. As I do somewhat agree, I think this is unfair since I am paying the price for their error...........

Feedback please!

Not being a vendor, I am not sure if you want my opinion; but I will give it anyway (suprise?).

Up until the point where you altered the product tyhat AM sent you, they had responsibility to make the order right. Once you modified what they sent you, it became your responsibility. I'm sorry, I side with tyhe vendor on this one; you should have done a test fitting first.

Yea.. sucks, but Herk kinda nailed it. If they weren't altered the seller should take responsibility. But once altered I don't think they have any obligation to take the piece back.

As a vendor, I have to say that it's the customers responsibility to check the item when you receive it. If it's the wrong item or there is something wrong withthe order, then the vendor should take care of the mistake, if it was their fault. However, since you did modify the product already, there is nothing a vendor can do. They would not be able to resell it. However, it's totally up to the vendor, but some companies may try to go above and beyond to help you out and at least give you a discounted price on a new set.

Thanks guys, I appreciate the feedback. The more I was thinking about this, the more I knew I was in the wrong and it was now my repsonsibility. I am in no way upset with AM...........more upset with myself ATM. But, hey, it was only $40, a lesson learned.

Already asked about just buying one and they denied me.

Tried ordering the tinted/smoked ones but they were out of stock! I can wait.......I was just trying to get them ready for mustang week. BTW, what's your cell number so we can hook up down there?

Sorry to hear about your luck Laura. While I agree it is the customer's responsibility to check all items right when you receive them, I do know AM is a bunch of good guys with good customer service. If you call them up and explain the situation, I'm sure they will at least offer something. It's worth a shot.

On an unrelated note, you should pick up those painted mirror covers they sell. I just got my set today and they make a world of difference! Would look badass on your CS!

Thank you for the kind words............definitely a lesson learned. thankfully it wasn't anything too major. Mostly the reason why I didn't check to make sure they fit. I did call them up and explained the situation. The few times I have talked to them, they have always been nice.

Are you referring to the painted mirror covers that just snap on the the upper part of the mirror? If so, I saw those on a white CS up at Carlisle and I hae to say, it looked horrible......IMO anyway. I plan on getting the entire mirror painted. But thank you for the suggestion.
