ordered me a Ford racing 4.6L 2V iron block today. I couldn't find a used one locally so I bit the bullet.

Should be alot stronger when it's not lifting the heads lol. Also switching back to turbo setup. stay tuned

I'm total not feeling the aluminum since it screwed me last time lol. I know people do it everyday, but at this point in the game, i'm done phucking around with the car lol.

only 85 lbs, what that amongst friends lol. Trying to keep the front end on the ground.

according to fedex, when I shipped the blower setup to its new home it was a total of 174 lbs. according to the label on the turbo package it was 85 lbs. i would have to add the weight of the exhaust manifolds. it close enough to what and what, plus this time the heads will be staying on the motor so I should be making more power anyways. I'm gonna stop at 18 PSI, I think, lol.

the ARP head studs popped the the threads in the Teskid block. the threads actually came out with the studs when I removed them. I got the block used. I think there may have been some issues with it that I didn't know about. Not all of them just some of them. the heads would lift under boost blowing oil into the valley and into the cylinders. I was also loosing water. It's been happening for some time. I just didn't find it till i removed the intake manifold.

block came in yesterday. Looks very nice. I got the old and the new blocks to the motor shop last night. I decided to install all new bearings and rings since I'm already this far torn down. Should be rolling soon.

I wanted an iron block and the 2V block was $780 brand new from Ford Racing. I already have motor mount adapter plates I made from the Teskid for the teskid block. I guess any iron block would have worked. I didn't think to look for a truck or explorer block. It's probably the same block anyway lol.

Delivered pistons to the engine builder today. He said the motor is going together tonight. Maybe I'll have it in the car and running this weekend :omfg:

It never went boom lol. It was driving fine when I took it apart. When the car was cold it would studder on take off. it didn't stop until the motor reached 190 deg. I never could figure it out. if you stayed out of boost it wouldn't use oil or water.

Hope it works out for ya bud. Might have to meet up at the track soon.

As for all your troubles...sorry to hear. Thats why i said f' all that bullshit when i bought my pile & just decided to stick w/ a simple bolt on car that i can...well...actually drive & am not in fear of chunking parts out on the road.

Hell i would even like to set my car up like Kip's but i just dont want any issues.

I say you buy your old truck back from dipshit...i mean Darren, build it back right again and have some real fun. Lol I miss mine, alot. And speaking of trucks Derek Hopwood is FINALLY working on his turbo truck again. Still cant wait to see it run

I had a similar issue, my brand new 2010 block from Ford cracked where the ARP stud went into block. Mine cracked on top stud closest to the firewall on number 8 hole.

Same as you, Fuck Aluminum!! I went with Boss block
