I am highly considering this car right now as my new 'mustang'. I'm meeting with my uncle next week to discuss setting up for PSCA 10.5 Outlaw for next season and working towards NHRA Pro Stock in 2010.

The car is currently owned by Cale Aronson and it is a Skinny Kid built car. It has a Jon Kaase Racing Engines 698 cubic inch engine. If I get the car, I will be going with a family powerplant built by Jack O'Bannon Racing.

Got my fingers crossed on this one that everything works out...
You and me both, Bub. Finder's fee from Cale and all that, you know. :makeadeal: Hurry up and buy the damn thing.

Sissy. I'd drive it but the damn seat is four feet too far back for me. Cale is about a foot taller than I am. Need to have Skinny Kid do a "Keebler Elf" mod for me to reach the pedals. :roflmao:

Alas - it's a no go...

As dissappointed as I am, my uncle is pretty smart. He laid the cards on the table and explained how the car would be a bad idea.

My thinking was to use the car for outlaw 10.5 and then maybe move up to pro stock but Jack quickly pointed out that this car could never be a pro stock car and I'd be buying a new car. Just too pricey to cut my teeth in.

The good news is he supports my thoughts and goals. He wants me to pick up a cheap roller at a PSCA race and he's got plenty of motors and trans I can use. He wants me to go budget in PSCA and make sure I'm committed before the big bucks of pro stock come along.

I'm bummed, but he is right. Me and Ken are going to start hitting the local races looking for budget start-ups to buy.

Fuck you SD I told him about it first!
That's not one of your options. You can try but you should check your medical coverage first.

Plus, you've got that whole wedding thing coming up and your wedding pics would look silly with you in a wheelchair.

Doesn't really matter now that Uncle Chevy talked him out of a Ford.

That's funny but really had nothing to do with it. He doesn't care what roller I use, and the fact he's got spare chevy motors just makes sense financially to take advantage of. But, I'd be lying if I said he wasn't a 'little' biased...lol

Well get busy. I need something else to drive while the car is being toted around the country. Plus, we could use another golf cart. And while you're at it I could use that roller that Mark didn't buy so get on it would you? :roflmao:

Why do you want to into Pro Stock? Do you really have that kind of money, Mark?

Jack has another player besides Patron who is interested but they are into pro stock. He has been considering it for a little while and my ideas just mesh along with his plans at the moment.

My limiting factor is time. I cannot get into that level without cutting my teeth in a far less competitive division for at least a full season and don't know if I'll have any opportunities down the road. It's a catch 22, really. + I could lower the burden by sponsoring a portion through my own company.

The reality is I am nowhere near qualified enough for the class as a driver and before that comes to pass, I'm pissing in the wind with any ideas. However, if the sponsor deal pushes with Jack, I can get first hand training working with the team and cut my teeth their as well on my weekends. I just want to race competitively at this point and need to crawl before I walk...:thumb:
