The event in Texas was a complete joke and had everyone pissed off beyond belief.
- They set two qualifying days up about 6 weeks prior to the event. One of the days was canceled due to weather, so they decided to have a last chance qualifying day the day before the event.
- Cars started lining up on Thursday morning to do last chance qualifying Friday
- Rich told everyone in the drivers meeting that they had no idea what field they were going to pick, so everyone go run all out. There would be a 32 car field picked.
- Rich then walked straight out of the drivers meeting and went out and announced to the crowd that the show had received a ton of emails wanting to see an 11 second class, so that was what they were going to do.
- When the drivers complained about being lied to in the drivers meeting about what field would be picked, they told the drivers that it was Rich's show, he could do whatever he wanted. If they didn't like it, leave.
- They picked an 11 second field just as he said he would. Even though they did not have enough cars (only had 16 cars). Supposedly they are going to come up with some kind of story for the actual TV show to justify picking the 11 second field.
May be great TV, but in person it sucks.
