Yup....firm believer in Courtesy Staging. The only problem is getting everyone to follow suit. Some will double bulb you just for spite and others just because they're too damn stupid to be on a drag strip anyway.

Personally.....you double bulb me I hope like hell you have a GREAT transmission cooler or a manual transmission.

LOL... one of my pet peeves, too.

This VIDEO was a perfect example. It makes no sense to me when someone puts on both stage beams, and then proceeds to sit there and bump the motor off of the rev limiter… before I even pre-stage!! Why can’t they wait until I at least light the top bulb?? Anyway, when my opponent did it to me on this run, I decided to leave him hanging there. I was not going to roll in until he backed off the throttle. And the funny thing is that Donna knew exactly what I was doing (because she knows how much that annoys me).

With your mods and the 4/10 pro tree, you have to stage very deep and you need to go as soon as you see a flash of any color on the tree. It sounds like in your class - you aren't going against anybody with a brake or anything so I'd lay odds the RT's are going to be about even.

For what you are working with, I'd shoot to be in the .150's range (time slip may say .550's because some slips show the .400 start of the tree)

I doubt many are going to be netting .0x lights and hardly no one netting .00x in that class on a footbrake.

Don't underestimate the importance of the RT - as long as you aren't too far of your dial, the RT is the winner or loser usually. Based on the class, I'd expect most to be not too great on the pro tree and if you can get your RT's in the .150's - I'd think you'll have a huge advantage...:hi:

OH yea - don't worry about trying to set any personal records. traction issues can kill you. Only bring your RPM's up enough where you are sure to hook. Don't worry about being 'slower' than normal. It's not about speed when you are in that race - it's all about RT and running close to your dial.

PS - if you are pretty far out front and sure they aren't going to catch you - TAP YOUR BRAKES before the stripe. If you have a big RT lead, you'll know it and the win is almost in the bag - don't chance breaking out.

You might want to go out near the starting line and watch the starter. See if you can get a handle on how long it takes the tree to flash after the last car stages. That way you can be almost expecting when it will go off.
