Problem with SCT X3

Has anybody had any problems with there X3 not loading any tunes. Mine will go through the steps, but when it tells you to turn the key on to load it does nothing. Sometimes it will load, but most of the time it wont. I have emailed SCT and got a couple of replies back with no luck. Now they wont email me at all.

I haven't had this happen. Mine didn't load a tune because the strategy code was different. Have you tried contacting SCT other than through email?

No! Not yet. I got another email today. So hopefully we can get this figured out.

pick up the phone and call them. emails are great, but talking with a live person often yiedls the best results

Where did you buy the tunes? I imagine you bought the tuner from someone like BBR, Brenspeed, etc. and the tuner came preloaded with tunes for your PCM. I had a slight issue with mine when I first got it from Brenspeed and they straightened it out right away.

Is it stock now and you are trying to load a tune? Or is it already tuned and you are trying to load a different tune?

I got the tuner from Justin at VMP tuning. I had him send me a tune revision and it's done it ever since. It only loads the tune when it wants. I cant even return it back to stock if I had to.

Also, someone more knowledgeable may be able to chime in - is there a way to back up your stock tune to your pc? I would imagine it is just another memory slot just like the three tunes. Just in case you oh ... break your xcal or lose it? Has me wondering now. If that's possible, I may want to do that myself.

Even if you can't backup your stock tune, I imagine the tuners would have a variety of the stock tunes on file, right? I mean, they had to have a file to mod in the first place.

This isn't a problem with the tune. It's a problem with the device. It happens too often. Call SCT, they should be able to fix it over the phone, or get you a new programmer. When you load the tune do you 'safely disconnect' it from the computer before unplugging the device?

Justin said there's nothing he can do. He said that's SCT's area of expertise. I was going to call last night but with the time difference it was to late.

i know there is new software available

i had to reload my laptop today, much more of a user friendly software,

also, it was different loading it.

said to turn key on, then turn off, then back on and it started loading

I have the latest software. So I know thats good.
Nasty! I dont remember because I had to do it at a friends house. I couldnt remember how to do it and didn't want to screw something up. I might try and reload the tunes again and see what happens.

I've seen instances where people just unplugged the device from the computer without clicking 'safely remove hardware' after and SCT blamed it on that. SCT did fix them up but something to think about in the future.

OP, FYI sometimes it takes a minute for the X3 to sync up. Just give it a couple of minutes, it will get there. Mine does this every once in a while
