curious why the 9" especially on an auto, don't think a fortified 8.8 will hold up

Looks good. Are those annular nozzles or 90 degree?

The car has already had gear issues with the 1.40 60ft and i want to be able to run pro gears. The only pro gear offered for the 8.8 is a 4:10

They are 90 degree. Me and steve may be offering a kit form of this if anyone is interested. I am building a stand alone fuel system for the nitrous.

What are you planning on running. 3.55, 3.73?

my shifts felt so much better once i went from the 4.10 to the 3.55, that 1st gear comes on quick

I'm actually thinking about possibly stepping down from 3.73 to 3.55 in the automatic because 1st gear shifts out so quickly. I can only imagine how short it is with 4.10's.

I think the 9inch is overkill too. Many guys in the 7's with an 8.8 rear. I went 8.17 @ 172mph with an 8.8 rear at 3500#'s. Not saying the 9 inch isnt nice, just think you could have saved a few bucks and built the 8.8.

Either way, nice build! I work on my buddy's 66 Nova that has two of steve's foggers on it. Steve's a good guy! Good luck with the build!

OP - if you want a build thread that will show the work being done, pictures and procedures etc, please start a new one and post it in the tech section.

Thanks.

I had an 8.8 in my drag radial car as well but it was alot lighter and honestly the price to do all that i would want to do to the 8.8 is only 800 less than i can do my 9 inch. So why not?

I guess its all in what you want

HOLY SHIT! Stop the presses! STK tells some to post IN the tech section!!!:thud:

Just kidding, but it is the first time I've seen it. And of course, rightfully so! I would love to see an official build thread with your planned setup OP. I can't imagine having that kind of cabbage to put into a new 5.0 build! Wish I did!
