That doesn't really bother me because I'd end up cutting much of that anyway. I'm interested in the 2 fuse boxes, engine wiring harness and the other harness, but much of it would be modified. I also and toying with the idea of running a 05 gauge cluster in the 65 so I am looking at needing that wiring too. I figure if I get most of it, it would be easier to cut off what I don't need then to go looking for what I don't have.

Yep, direct from the Skinny Kid Race Car website. I am getting it back tomorrow painted.

As far as the 3 link, you may be right--but I didn't spend any money or time on it as it was existing. Time will tell if a 4 link will be needed or if I can use a larger tire, etc. There are some very quick cars out there using stock style suspensions. Also remember, depending on the engine dyno and torque numbers, I may be using a PG, which has a 1.80 first gear (vs a 2.48 or 2.74 first of other 3 spd transmissions).

Yep the PG will be your best bet for sure...:thumb2:

I think if you leave hard enough to run your number, you are going to blow off from the line and not hook and you are going to have to leave very soft and slowly work in the power which is also not going to get you your number.

That motor set-up needs bigger tires and a 4 link IMO.
I don't think so. I know how he can make it work. Then again....I've been called a self-righteous know-it-all before. :roflmao:

Some pictures of my wing and scoop, painted and put on for the last time. All I need to do is get some rubber molding for the border of the hood cut out.

looking good Paul. one question, the scoop's placement, why not a bit more forward to fully cover the opening?

Because of the windshield wiper washer thingys that are on the hood. Any further forward and the holes those things left would start showing--as the scoop starts to narrow the closer is gets to the windshield. The hole itself in the hood is in the correct location for the carb, and you can not see the opening from the side.

gotcha, I knew there was a good reason but could not think of it. I did realize there was only a small angle that one would notice it, you just happened to catch it in one of the pictures.

Thanks!

The PSCA race on September 10th - 12th is the goal for the first time out 1/4 mile. Hoping the car will be at Irwindale in August for some test runs / 1/8th mile passes.

That is the goal. However, the race I really want to make no matter what, is the Street Car Super Nationals November 18-21 at VEGAS! That was a fantastic race last year and one of the best on the west coast.

Hopefully I will be posting up some engine dyno numbers / vids here in July at the latest.

The Street Car Super Nationals sounds like a lot of fun. I have plans to see one day of racing at the NHRA Las Vegas Nationals.

Vacuum Pump setup came in today. 4 Vane Moroso pump, drive kit, pulleys, fittings, and vacuum regulator. Sweet setup which can be an easy 40 hp with this motor.

Also I decided that I am going to go with a Powerglide for sure. I have the SFI ATI flexplate with crank adaptor--and which ever trans I decide on will have an SFI bell and case, so I won't need a flexplate shield and trans shield.

Reason being--even though this car will be N/A most of the time, I will be spraying a 175 shot out of the hole from time to time and the PG trans I will be getting will allow me to grow and change to stronger combos in the future. Plus I will be running a small tire for now, so the mild first gear ratio will help me get it out of the hole.

First pictures on the engine coming together should be next week, and I should be ready to buy the trans I decide on in a couple more weeks.
