First post updated with latest info (if you want to get the jist of it and not read through 30+pages.

So this weekend I just did some minor things.

1) made a nice coil bracket and mounted the coil right off of the drivers side cylinder head. Coil wire will be short and I want to keep as much stuff as possible off of the fenderwells. I still need to tackle the ABS distribution box delete, as well as re-routing the brake lines. Next weekend.

2) re-did my seat mount to the back bar--much simpler and cleaner looking now.

3) mounted the breather tank off of the frame below the vacum pump (vs where I had it, on the fenderwell)

4) After some test fitting and weighing my options, I decided I am going with an aftermarket radiator and fan, along with changing the mounting location. I could have made the stock fan and radiator work if I had to, but I am going to go a different route.

5) I also decided I will be going with a dual battery setup. It will cost me an extra 50lbs, but the weight will be over the rear tires where it will be needed, and the car will not have trouble getting back into the lanes quickly if I have to. I found a sweet setup I will be using as a guide, picture below.

6) Ignition box mounting will be also similar to what I found below, an aluminum plate mounted about 1/2 inch above the floor board on the passenger side, where your feet would be if sitting in the passenger seat.

Here is what I am going to do with the dual battery and ignition---I found this on racingjunk on a car that was done right!

Looking good ! Its amazing how long it takes to do the small stuff. I am learning now that it requires just as much time to decide where to put stuff as it does to do the work. Every move you make you have to step back and think about awhile . Keep up the good work.

Haha exactly. I thought about putting the coil in 3 different places before finally deciding, had to consider future routing of other stuff to make sure it wouldn't be in the way.

Just remember this , IT WILL BE WORTH IT !

Ordered an ATI powerglide with the supercase, vasco input shaft, and transbrake--rated to 1500 hp. Also ordered an ATI converter, 9 inch, which should be about a 5000 stall with my combo. Car is going in early January for the custom headers, they will be 2 1/4 primary pipe to a 2 3/8 step, to a 4 1/2 collector. Will run about 2-3 feet of straight pipe to a pair of Vibrant race mufflers.

In the meantime I have made the plug wires, relocated the trans cooler for a slimline flex-a-lite electric fan which is a pusher, and eliminated the stock electric fan all together. I custom made some radiator mounts for use with the stock radiator, made the mount for the 7AL-3 box, did some more wiring, ready to finish up the fuel system (regulator) and radiator hose setup, etc, etc.

Car should be ready early Feb.

Keep pushing ! It gets a little overwhelming at this stage and becomes a lot of bullshit work but like I always say IT WILL BE WORTH IT ! Good luck .

Only because I got an awesome deal on this 7AL-3, and it has all the features I wanted for now.

Ok, getting closer. My collectors came in today, 2 3/8 primary pipe to a 4 1/2 inch collector. It will be a step header, so the header size at the head will be 2 1/4 to a 2 3/8 step. These things are huge. Headers and new motor mounts should be ready by 1/14.

Damn, I want to do something like this so bad. I've though about a small block, now I'm leaning towards a mildly built 460.

Finished the top radiatior hose, finished the vacuum pump routing, mounted the radiator overflow and the oil catch can for the vacuum pump to a bracket I made--both fit nicely in the location I picked. The electric fan is not missing--its just in front of the radiator and is a "pusher" vs a "puller" which gives me extra room to work.

One foot on the shock tower, one foot on the base of the windshield, and one hand on the ceiling to steady myself as the camera wanted a shutter speed of only 1/25 of a second, so I had to grab the ceiling to stay still long enough
