Project Large Caliber - Cam's NEW 2009 Bullitt Build Thread

My car has two fat lines coming off the positive battery terminal. One goes to the alternator and the other gets wrapped up in the big wiring harness, then one wire forks out to the PCM and another ends up at the starter. Do you have a fat wire going from the battery to the back of the PCM?

You mean the one that goes to the Fuse box, that has a screw mounted in it?

This one. It will even have a clip on it to attach it to a hole in the strut tower.

One line was connected to the fuse box... Maybe you are right, and two leads go to the fuse box. I will be back at the shop Tuesday afternoon.

On a side note, I purchased a used FRPP 65mm TB and everything looks like it is on the up and up. FRPP fuel pumps should arrive next week. Last things I'll need before I fire it up is a midpipe and a tune.

Still need to check transmission fluid and change it out just because.

Not too much to update on. I ordered a new GT500 HID Headlight harness which I'll install either tomorrow or Friday and the FRPP fuel pumps should be arriving tomorrow. I got my new 7/8" spacers yesterday and along with the Russell SS brake lines (thanks to Greg@Hypermotive). I should be able to get the new studs installed along with the rotors and calipers done in the rear by this weekend.

Also need to look up to find out where that mysterious battery line hooks up and connect the battery relocation box to the main harness.

Still trying to locate a stock midpipe. I found them anywhere from $300 picked up to $375 shipped.

Need opinions on something... itching to look into a different look with the car. I like the stock look, but I don't think I'll be satisfied with it. Sleeper yes, but I'm not sure.

Looking at the following options.

GT/CS Front/Rear
Tiger Racing Hood (Fiberglass)
2010+ Mirrors

or

Full GT500 Front End/Rear
GT500 Stock Hood
Unpainted Rocker Panels and lower end of bumper unpainted (Gt500 style)
2010+ Mirrors

For both of these I'm looking into another set of custom wheels... 13" rear with cut and extended rear fenders.

Thoughts?

Obviously this will add more time to the build, but I can't help to think I want something as radical looking but subtle like my convertible.

I think having it all gt500 would be bad ass in that color, at first glance bullitt, but then people realize gt500....the way you are doing the swap I think it would look good because it should look factory once it is all done

I vote for keeping it Bullitt with maybe the GT/CS front spoiler and 2010+ mirrors. Take the money you would have spent on custom rims/tires and have the rears widened an 1.5" and put some 305's back there.

I would go with option 1, that tiger racing hood + gt/cs front will look absolutely stunning. Would be unique as well, whereas the gt500 look will be more "common" looking. My 2 cents. Looking great so far!

Well my Bullitt is black, so there already is confusion when people think "uh well that's not Green, why you make a phony?" That would really mess people up now... it's a Black Bullitt with a GT500 powertrain and facias?

You mean the front bumper? The original plan was to widen the stock wheels, which still sounds really sinister.

I envisioned that for a while and left it alone. The GT500 look would be cool, but I see what you mean.

However I do need to share with you guys this. I created this rendering Fall 2012. Where the cobra/snake emblem would be I would plan to put a custom cnc'd circular badge with a crosshairs on it.

Ahhh, forgot you had a black one... that does make a difference. Why don't you con Willy in to custom fabbing you some fenders? then you could run the 10+ front end and really mess with peoples noodles!

Sounds sinister as shit. This is my vote. I like where Willy's head is. GT500 power train in a Bullitt with a GT500 front end with that Bullitt emblem would be BADASS.

I really like how Plain Jane the Bullitts are, and I think you are moving too far away from that if you do a different hood. I also think its completely stupid to a do a GT500 front end on the car since you already have a car with a GT500 front end. Might as well sell the car and buy a black 07-09 GT500...

You bring up a good point. This is why I steered away from this concept before last year. I love the factory wheels, but if I went this route I would change them out. Probably a 19x10" square setup with 285/35 tires. As for buying another GT500... It's a little too late for me to turn around.

I love that guys Bullitt, it made me regret selling off those bumpers when I went back to "stock" appearance. The 2010+ mirrors speak for themselves.

To each his own, but from my perspective, the GT500 grille is really wide and needs that specific GT500 raised hood to look the best. With a GT shaped hood it looks strange. To add to that, the car is black and the lines of it are already cloaked severely.
