Anyone installed a set of these in real life yet? I'm thinking about being the first test dummy (in this thread). I really want Mac LTs, but they're obviously about to go out of business and haven't been producing them.

I only read through page two, but I have been very happy with my Pypes experience. Started out with their Violator axle-back. After the initial install it took a bit to make them fill the exhaust cut-outs perfectly. I think it would be impossible to make a set that fits exactly perfect on every single car. My only complaint was the mufflers were a hair quieter than I would had preferred. Awesome sound, no drone to speak of, and bone-stock volume on the highway. So, I decided to by on off-road x-pipe. After some around town shopping (live in Fort Worth), I decided to go with the Pypes piece. 409 stainless for the cost of regualr exhaust pipe…I was sold. I really dug the 3-piece design. I had zero figment issues. Installation was a snap. If you still have stock manifolds (like I do), be sure to install the extra bell flanges in the down-tubes so you don't have leaks there. I guess the stock manifolds are 2 1/4" outlets and their headers are 2 1/2". I like the flexibility they engineered into it. The bends looked great as did the welds. Overall I am very pleased with my $180 upgrade. Now, the car is definitely louder. Maybe more so than I would have wanted. I think I might add some resonators in the down tubes too quiet it up just a hair and clean up the sound a bit.

No offense. But what exactly does this have to do with the long tube headers.

No offense taken. I just read a lot of people's negative comments about Pypes products in general and wanted to share my experience.

my verdict is only get the M80's, anything else from pypes and you are taking a gamble. might fit good, might not. i have M80's welded in so i didnt have to worry about any fitment.

There's a current thread on another Mustang website, where a guy installed these headers with no problems. Furthermore, a tech rep at Brenspeed told me these headers fit well, and are quality constructed. He had installed some already. He also confirmed that they were a direct copy of Kooks LTs. the only differnece is thta the Pypes mid-pipe is made of T409 stainless instead of the superior T304 stainless used by Kooks.

If the quality of their long tubes is anything like the quality of their midpipes, I'd say avoid those headers at all costs.

Installed them last weekend after chatting with Brenspeed about them for quite some time. They had installed them on a shop car and said the quality for great and that they were identical to the kooks long tube headers. They bolted up just fine with me and also did the pypes o/r hpipe.

If they are the same at Kooks then why not buy a Kooks catted mid-pipe of your choice

I usually ventured over to mustangforums but they are a little low on the tech support over there so someone mentioned this forum so I thought I would give it a shot. So far I've gotten more help in the past two days then 3 months on mustangforums. I also recently joined modularfords.com.

I hear more and more people say they are They are good fitment, so I think this is enough to prove it. I wonder if there are any N/A dyno sheets with these headers too.
