reading comprehension > me.

Correct, under that wording a 5R55S is the only legal transmission for the class. However, I object to mid-season rule changes for any purpose other than increasing driver safety (and those should be optional).

How the hell is anyone supposed to build a class-based racecar if they're going to go around changing the rules week by week all willy nilly?

You have noticed the lack of car count in the FFW heads-up classes haven't you???????? :roflmao:

I'm not really sure why the word "Mustang" was added back into the rules for FFW. Or when it was added for that matter. Either way, the 4R70W has been allowed all year and I really don't see a reason why it should be illegal anyway. Unless you use a transbrake (which everyone will see when you let go of the button) the transmission should be one of your two choices.

I'm just waiting for someone to show up at an NMRA Super Stang race with a C4. And a carburetor.

Since U/S is still an index/bracket style race, they should allow any mods whatsoever (except launch aids/delay boxes). I'd say the only powertrain restrictions should be that it should be a mod motor and all blue oval.

Ford Racing, as the main class sponsor, wanted to ensure that the class did not get out of hand in the same manner as the old Mod Motor class. IE: a bunch of purpose built bracket cars coming in and owning the class. They wanted it to remain as a street car class that anyone could drive in off the street and race. Simple. Real street cars....not race cars with plates and fake registration. No tube chassis, mini-tubs, powerglides, turbo 400's, transbrakes, ladder bars, etc. I would have gone further and required that all cars retain every piece of factory accessories. Air conditioning, power steering, etc.

Personally.....I love this class and Super Stang. These two classes put the emphasis squarely on the driver. These are driver's classes that are open to anyone with a real street S197.

Anyone can race in Ultra Stang or Super Stang. You just have to deal with me.

SD your just lucky I could not make any other FFW races this year or you would be in second place. It is not looking good for me being able to make the NMRA in Columbus next weekend either. Damn intercooler is leaking. I'll see you at the track next year unless I can the fixed before the 28th.

How many FFW or NMRA races have you driven your car to this year?

You still riding that one round win pretty well aren't you, Ron???? You do remember Epping in '06 don't you????

None. That's too damn many miles on the car!!!! Plus, when the sponsor says, "Let's put that car in an enclosed trailer so nothing bad happens to it"............you tend to go along with them. :thumb:

Plus, it's their gas money and not mine so I hope you understand. :roflmao:

Oh yes I remember Epping, That was my first race ever outside of a street night at a track. So we are 1 and 1 against each other.

And hell yes I am still riding that win, as it is the only event I was able to make this year. LOL

Come on out when you can, Ron. Always good to have the car count and good people such as yourself.

But I am going to trailer your ass.

You got lucky at Atco, cause not only will you have to run another JDM car that is faster than you, you will beat on the light too. And I was footbraking the car. :thumb:

Welcome to Fantasy Island. :wtf:

I'm sure ol' whatshisname I beat in the first round with a .007 light would agree with you too. :roflmao:
