I just went with a 2600 stall PI TC last week. I installed an email tune for the new TC prior to taking it to the shop. With the new TC tune, the trans just didn't feel right with the stock TC on the 5 mile drive to the shop. After the new TC was installed I could really feel how the tune was matched to the TC.
Also, I had the car dyno tuned yesterday. The tuner was doing a pull with the email tune to see how it ran, but had to back off because the new TC was causing the car to run way too lean when it flashed and it had to be corrected. I really think there comes a point where a mod requires a dyno tune. In my experience the TC was such a mod.
