Question on smoothing it out.....

I live at the top of a mountain ridge in between 2 valleys so i find myself in twisties all the time, I love hitting (smooth fresh asphalt) corners pretty hard don't know how to explain how sharp they are but I normally hit them at 40-45MPH and don't like to push it further once I hear the wheels screaming at me but I do LOVE the feeling of ripping through a corner. Now the reason for my question is 8/10 of the turns on these mountain roads are not in great condition and just REALLY rough and not fun to hit hard at all... I know a watt's link is suppose to help keep everything from flying around but I don't have the $ to drop on one atm... Right now I am rolling on the stock 18" Rims/Tires and I am on a Eibach Pro-Kit everything else = stock. What would be something under $350 that could smooth it out for me? I was thinking LCA's but I am not sure I fully understand how they work.... any help would be great. Thanks in advance. Oh also... would a Bumpsteer Kit help? If so, which one? and how hard are they to install and set up correctly?

I really doubt any lca's/phb will smooth it out, you'll get rid of the soft rubber bushings and probably end up feeling more of the rough road and get more Noise/harness/vibration. The only thing that might smooth it out is a nice set of shocks/struts if your stockers have kicked the bucket, or an upgraded tire. Any of those mods will allow you to go faster in that turn, with more confidence, and a more capable car...but I dont think any of it will lead to a smoother ride.

+1, this isn't a ferrari. and for around 350, maybe a STB and a Gtrac brace from Steeda, but that's about it man. I will say, the bullitt nose dives like a motherfucker into turns. I'd say save up for D-specs and find the limits of the prokit then look into chassis stiffening. LCAs will do almost nothing on turns, they are more for straigh line racing, not that they don't help, it's just not what'd you'd be looking for right now. A bumpsteer kit would be good as well, but wouldn't help much if your missing out on traction to begin with.

A set of Kony Yellow shocks would probably help the msot with your ride quality. Its amazing the difference they made when I put them on my car.

Thats what I have heard in MANY MANY cases just need the $, I also heard that there arent anymore pairs of the Front Struts of the Koni Yellows in the USA in the moment and won't be until around October or something.... I will worry about it when I can get them lol. Thanks for the help guys, I guess its not the bumps I mind its the confidence that the bumps removes but if your saying that ill be able to hit that corner 10+ MPH faster with some better suspension parts I am a happy camper.

Turning fast on bumpy roads isn't a good idea anyways since the car doesn't settle.

A good set of shocks will help.

Also, LCAs do help with turns. When you're turning the stock LCAs bushings have a lot of mushy play in them. This results in unwanted axle movement. I think LCAs are a great upgrade.

Alright thats what I feel sometimes when I hit it too hard.... almost like the rear moves and inch or two on those bumpy turns... anyway.. I will see when I actually do it. Thanks for the help/info guys much appreciated.

Yeah, i believe with all stock UCA/LCAs the rear axle can move up to 1" side to side under hard cornering.
