About a month ago I noticed that the passenger side connection for the rear defroster detached completely from the glass. I finally got around to buying the kit to re attach it and all seemed well since we got snow a day later and I saw that it was working like it should.

A few days later I had frost on the rear window and put it on and nothing happened. Since then it still has not worked for me and I have no idea really why. I made sure the connections were good and it was still attached to the glass. Any ideas?

Yeah, here's one... post this in Chit-Chat where it belongs.

I would think that repairing a car is just as technical as upgrading a car. How in the hell does this belong in "Chit-Chat"????

As for the OP, measure the resistance of the heater grid (between the two terminals on the window) and I bet you will find it is either very high or completely open. It is a real bitch to fix the grid if you break the connector. The only sure fire fix that I know of is replace the glass and then DON'T break the connectors off in the future... But that is not a cheap or easy fix.

ive had cars where the wire in or wire out of the grid gets unplugged, ripped or broken. before you go crazy definitley make sure the wires are safe. that and the fuse. also could even be the button gone bad....

Thanks.

After I made this post, I had the same idea and went outside. Registered 13 volts between both terminals, but as soon as I touched the part next to the glass, got 0 volts. (only on the side I re attached, the drivers side reacted normal). I'm apparently not getting a good conduction where I re attached the connector. Going to have to redo it when it gets a little warmer out.

Ive had this problem on a couple DD cars. Remove the connector you fixed and solder it. It has worked perfectly on the few cars Ive done it to...
