i have a 07 shelby gt with the stripes that just flaked off in little bastard bits so i finally just bought an eraser wheel and it worked great. took a little bit of time mostly because I was dieing of heat here in orlando. but came off good. I used goo gone after to get any remaining residue and now I am installing my new supersnake stripes :)

For guys who have had the vinyls on for awhile, did the paint look anything different when you took them off? In sunlight, can you see any difference in the paint color from any type of fading on the non-vinyl parts?

I have a white car with blue stripes that I want to remove but the body shop says that the paint may be yellow under the stripes.

we may get hit by a comet. Don't worry about such small odds. Your paint will be fine. Worse case scenario, put on some new stripes.

Keep stripes: will have stripes.
Take stripes off: very small chance may have slight yellowing that can't be polished out.

Take one piece off and see how it looks. Replace that piece if you see more yellowing than you can handle, if any.

i took mine off the week i purchased mine, if i were to do it again i would get a heat gun, fuck a damn hair dryer lol i went through two of them. Seeing as you have to always keep it hot so it does not cool off and break and plus i was the only one doing it with no help it was a PITA! And I used 3M adhesive remover to get all the glue off the car. Mine were on there since the previous owner purchased it so they were faded, I would recommend depending how long they were on there to get it wet sanded, it will defiantly help the paint out.
