im ordering Dynomax race bullets today, i have my resonators cut out and replaced with a 3" pipe currently. Should i get the 12" or 18" bullets? what size diameter? 2.5, 2.75, or 3"? Anyone have any recommendations over these bullets?

I'm a fan of Magnaflow straight throughs. My recommendation is to run them (to match the diameter of whatever pipe you have for the system where they will mount). No sense in running adapters, just match the diameters. For length, depends on what you want for loudness. If you want louder, go short.

I would if they had a longer chamber, I'm more looking for decibel reduction, last thing I need is a cop to think I'm catless

Im running MBRP resonators on my car with FI, cams, offroad h and borla S types....tone is amazing. Deep and throaty, all the rasp is gone. They are 12 inches I think. I originally had Pypes m80s but they started rattling so they had to go.

Off road H.... so no cats. Where did you have the M80's placed at the time... b4 the H, or after the H ? A local buddy had cherry bombs on the end of his LT, on his 1970 mopar..and burnt them to a crisp. They use aluminized steel alloy..which is junk, imo. Red paint all came off 1st, then the insides were burnt.

My setup is JBA ceramic LT's, catted H, M80's, FRPP frs-500 mufflers. So far, so good. The original setup was oem exhaust manifold, oem cats, oem H, FRS-500 mufflers..sound was good, no drone. After the lt's and catted H went in... WAY too loud,,and bad drone at 1900 rpm. M80's welded in, just b4 the axle... problem solved, barely any drone, and a deeper note, and overall level is way down to something I like.

Resonator's in general, might last longer, if placed after the H / X vs b4. That's speculation on my part.

Just get you a pair of 12" (in my case) Vibrant Resonators that match the diameter of your pipes from Amazon, Summit, or wherever and have them welded on.

what would be the difference between the vibrant resonators and the dynomax?

I already ordered the longer set, i was thinking of installing some cut-outs right after the resonator end point so i could have more than 1 exhaust note. Also to hear the ghost cam a little better sometimes when i want to feel like a cool kid

(edit) should i just gut my OEM cats, or buy some fake cats and weld them over my cat delete pipes?

If you're deleting the cats then that is going to make a huge difference in your exhaust volume. You will end up starting over with your quest for the correct volume exhaust, everything you've done before that will now be too loud.

If you're deleting cats then do that first, then work on exhaust tone.

That's why I ordered resonators because the car will be too loud without the cats. The car is too quiet right now with the kooks shorties, h pipe, res delete, and bassani.


I was going to delete the cats, throw on the resonators, then choose x or h pipe. Since the resonators will cut down rasp I figured I would go with x anyways. I love my exhaust note now, but I want the cam tune and a louder/meaner exhaust note

My m80s were placed right after the catless H pipe. Same spot for the my current setup of mbrp resonators. Tone is the same as yours....thick and meaty. Borla s types shape it perfectly. I'm 100% stoked.
