My work lies fairly close to the freeway, and even though it's only 2 miles down the street from my home there is still a nice layer of dust on it daily. Every morning before I head out I like the car looking its best so I use a quick detailer/microfiber and carefully wipe off any grime and then do the windows as well... I'm worried about scratching and micromarring the paint with this technique though. On my tahoe I used to use a california car duster to this but stopped after I saw the swirl marks slowly building up...(I was 17, live and learn right?) Short of washing the car every time there's a bit of dust on it, what do you all do to keep your ride dust free?

I have a similar problem. I live in florida and it rains daily, so instead of washing it everyday to remove the water spots I use Turtle Wax Ice and a microfiber cloth. The good thing about this wax is you can also use it on the black moldings as well as glass. Hope this helps...

thats what the quick detailer is for. Get a good quality microfiber rag.

Griots Garage Spray on Car Wash is what I use. I have also used Optimum No Rinse with good success.

Any time you wipe down a car that often, you are going to get swirls. minimize them by using several clean towels with each wipe. I avoid using a dirty side of the rag. I turn it over each panel and replace when wet. Also be sure to lightly drag the towel over the paint and not put any weight into it.

Then I machine polish once or twice a year to maintain as swirl free finish as I can.
