Ross -16cc dished .020" oversize pistons for sale. Brand new, never run. Installed in shortblock but never run. Will include pistons, rings, pins, and locks. Will yield 9:1 compression in a three valve 4.6 engine. Great for superchargers...not so much for turbos (which is why I don't need them).
$500 shipped.

OR..........complete Teksid shortblock with the above mentioned pistons w/moly ring set, Manley rods, Cobra crank, ARP main studs, Clevite bearings, balanced and assembled. Brand new. $3000

D/R's are...............SOLD

oooops....didn't list that, did I? Pistons are .020" over.

These pistons are currently in the shortblock I received from Shawn Osburn (06_Gtvert). This is one of the infamous "Larry H" shortblocks and I have had it rebalanced and corrected the clearances to fix the problems most people are having with these shortblocks. However, we figured that nobody would want to buy the shortblock anyway so we are going to remove the crank, rods, and pistons from this Teksid block, change pistons, and install the assembly into an '05 & up block.

Now, having said that, IF someone would like this shortblock Shawn has authorized me to make them a decent deal on it since the problems have been fixed and I will build us another new shortblock.

What would the specs be on this problem-free short block? Parts? HP rating?
:roflmao:

That's funny. Nothing is "problem-free" in this world. There isn't anything made that some dolt somewhere can't break. Even steel balls in a sandbox with a rubber mallet.

But I digress.......Teksid .020" over block, ARP main studs, Cobra crank (std mains, std rods), Manley H-beam rods, Ross pistons & rings, Clevite bearings. Essentially, this is an aluminum-block version of the '03-04 Cobra shortblocks.

One set of M&H 275/50-17 drag radials. Damn near brand new. Five quarter mile runs, one eighth mile run, and one 1000' run (thanks to connecting rods that decided to bail out on me), and less than 150 street miles. Going to 15" d/r's so these need to go.
$300 plus shipping.
will these fit the stock bullits with no issues on a lowered car?can you shoot some potos of them

Everyone runs them on stock width Bullitt wheels. I've seen them on cars lowered 1 1/2" with no problems. Should work with cars lowered 2" but I've never seen one that low with drag radials.

I can post some pics but keep in mind that my car is up on jackstands.

Would I do better to run the 275/50/17s or 325/45/17s on my 17x9.5" Greg Welds?

And how much do you want for the motor, and what was done to "fix" the problem. Is this motor bad for a turbo setup?

The 325 would be the better choice. The 275 sits nicely on the stock wheel but would be too spread out on the 9.5" wheel.

And how much do you want for the motor, and what was done to "fix" the problem. Is this motor bad for a turbo setup?
The problems that I found were:
1) Too much thrust clearance. Found a set of thrust bearings that finally gave me the clearance I wanted.

2) Balance was wrong. It appears that whomever did the balancing on these shortblocks was using the bob weights from the Terminator crank/Manley rod/Manley piston combination. These are Ross pistons and are lighter than the Manley pistons used in the '03/04 Cobra engines. This changes things a bit when it comes to balancing. We rebalanced the rotating assembly with the bob weights from the Ross pistons/Manley rods.

I wouldn't say the engine is "bad" for a turbo. This engine can be used with a turbo and tuned to provide good low speed/low boost response if you have a good tuner. It would also be very forgiving if you decide to run any kind of pump gasoline.

The 9:1 is simply not what I'm planning on using. We are going to be running, at a minimum, VP StreetBlaze 100 for ORSCA Hot Street (spec fuel) and using C16 for other race classes. Therefore.....we are going with 10:1 compression. This thing will not see any pump gasoline.

Anyway.....$3000 for the shortblock plus shipping.

Well the car is a DD and I run 93 octane in it all the time. I put 5 gallons of 110 the last time I went to the track, because it was really cold and I just wanted to be safe, but that was it. I am thinking about doing an e85 tune on it later down the road, but right now I want to be able to turn the boost way up on the stock 60-1 from the turbonetics kit, and still daily drive it. Is it that 9:1 is too high for a high boost turbo application?

What Beau said. 9:1 would be good for that type of setup.

Hmm... thinkin about it. I am waiting to hear back from BBR about building my motor, and I am still thinking about nycmikie's (cant remember the spelling) motor. He's pretty dead set on his price and it's more then I want to pay though. With this motor I could almost afford heads and cams. I havent even started trying to figure out the right cam for this car.

I am probably going to buy it, I am just waiting to hear back from BBR first. It really depends on how much they want to build my motor.

none taken. And I am not trying to be cheap about this either. But they have this right on their website for $3295 http://www.blowbyracing.com/bbr-3v-short01.html.

I am just wieghing out all my options first, and trying to get the most bang for my buck. I usually have more to spend on the car at the end of each year, but this time a lot of the money was spoken for before I had it. I am pretty sure I am going to have them do all the work to the car this time around. Hopefully they are my new Mustang shop. They are near my parents house, and Moroso, and seem like really cool people over the phone.
