Like I said else where, I'm very interested in this mod, can't wait to see what people have to say after they have it on.

Performance gains?

probably not

While I am not disagreeing with Ron because technically he is probably right, they are "claiming" performance gains. But most likely the "performance gains" that Saleen is claiming is due to the 98mm MAF that it comes with.

Personally, I ain't drinking the Koolaide just yet. A conversion kit has got to cost at least a grand if not more for existing customers. No telling how much they want to slap on to the cost of a SC for new customers. And I do see some "issues" with it, such as the air filter being basically right in the intake opening. Rain is gonna fill that airbox up nicely. Also not completely thrilled about yet more plumbing and wiring changes.

Don't get me wrong, love my Saleen SC. I am making a hell of a lot more power on less psi and timing than most. But if they want to impress me with an upgrade of some kind, how about figuring out a better idea for the alternator so that you don't have to pull the damn thing off to replace a belt. Makes trackside pulley changes kind of a pain in the ass.

I know Brenspeed is working on a tensioner upgrade for high boost applications and some sort of large intercooler reservoir to make it easier to add ice etc.

the info i have heard back on this is $1500-2000 for existing Saleen owners...me personally a little steep. as far as the opening part, once again I agree with Doc, I live in the The Rainshine state of Florida and would be very concerned to the rain issue. Unless they tell me it will provide (insert large number here) I can not see buying one. i agree on the alt thing too,,,,,

That's the first thing I saw too. It is very nice looking and functional to get great cold air into the system, but I would not drive something like that in the rain!

What would be nice would be supplying two (2) top pieces. One that looks as it does so you can run it that way on a clear day, and one that would go in backwards so you could run it anytime.

The sound clip was very bad quality, but it seems to really make the blower sound a lot louder, eh?
