After running Sebring with Camp Steeda I kinda found myself wondering what shifters people are running on their cars. As mine is stock, a few people swear by the tri-ax while other say they hate it and so on. So i'm a bit curious what others are running for road racing/autox. Thanks!

PROS:

The centering spring is the heaviest that I've seen, which makes the 2-3 shift a lot harder to screw up.
Variable throw length means that you can dial in the amount of distance to your liking.
Built like a tank, you won't break this one.
Includes all sorts of little fringe extras, like Dynamat for heat shielding.

CONS:
With the throw set towards the longer end, it had some clearance issues with the BMR front driveshaft loop. Easily remedied with a spacer on the loop mount. I understand that the newest rev. of the shifter fixed this.
NOT cheap!

i have the hurst which is newly rebuilt using the frpp rebuild kit. works like a champ.
two things i do not like
1.very loose at times which i could put up to heat expansion and contraction but it feels a little sloppy
2. heat, plain and simple, even using the stock boot it really heats up

i've tried a few and i still think the stock shifter is the best, but then again i'm using the TR6060.

my favorite aftermarket shifter was the pro 5.0 though, never tried the MGW

I'd go MGW and they only sell direct to customer so I'm not trying to sell it. It's a bad ass piece.

i love my MGW and dont know how i shifted with out it. the only thing is that if some one else drives your car who has verry little strength in there arms(mother,GF) they will hate reverse.

other than that it is worth the money and it makes down shifts so easy.

I have the Tri-Ax, very good except for the vibes it passes on with the poly bushings.

The stock shifter uses what I call a floating mount at the rear, but the Tri-Ax bolts directly to the floor pan. It is necessary to put some damping material between the shifter and the floor otherwise the vibes are just ridiculous.
