Here is a picture of a Smart Junction Box that has Water intrusion. This customer had a clicking noise while driving down the road and an independent shop thought it was an AC Actuator. Turns out it was the SJB clicking while driving down the road. Be vigilant of checking these out. They are obsolete from Ford. This customer is getting one reman through an outside source for us to install.

What do you do about the corrosion in the harness connectors?
Just replacing the sjb and ship it?

There are products out there to spray and clean the corrosion. If they don't work then it needs to go further and re-pin the harness end. This situation it is NOT the cowl drain. This car actually has a body seam issue that we will be correcting also.

Wow, haven't heard of body seam issues before, but not surprised. Majority of the time it's caused by cowl vents clogged with leaves and such though. Regardless of what caused THIS issue, it's still a good reminder to clean the cowl vents out.

Absolutely. The issue seems to be that over a period of time, the sealer like any other product is controlled by temperature. When it warms up it softens up. Then it cools off and hardens. This process happens thousands of times and eventually the sealer will start to leak and not do it's job 100%.
