Slow vs. fast acting rev limiter

So, I did a quick search on this and only found threads relating to the rev limiter in general not a comparison of both types. If a thread exists let me know and I will check it out.

Ok, on to topic. My '08 Bullitt has the Roushcharger M90 and a BBR tune. It has a slow acting rev limiter. Appears to dial back the drive-by-wire throttle. I am not a huge fan of this method as it seems to anticipate my approach to redline and start dialing back throttle before I even get there (some call it a soft touch rev limiter). Currently set at 6500 RPM.

I see that some of the S197 cars out there have the fast acting limiter that "bounces" off redline by cycling injectors and what have you. Is there an option in my hand held SCT tuner to change to a fast acting? FYI, I bought the car used with mods already on it.

I think it's just how the tuner decides to do it.

However having a Rev limiter by reducing fuel +boost is a bad idea.

I'll be going for a wotbox that will cut spark off whenever I feel the need for it.

Yes it can be set in tune, you don't want to hit the rev limiter regardless.

This has to be for when he rolls through the M&G's on the limiter. Blah...

From what I've read, you can have the tuner set the limiter higher to like 67 or 6800 so you get full pull to the 6500 redline. But YOU have to get out of it at 6500. No more bouncing off the limiter.

I will see if I can get BBR to change that for me. I am aware of the rod failures with these cars and don't plan to hit the limiter. I appreciate the responses.
