I finally found the problem that's been causing the ticking on my 06 gt. The thread where the spark plug screws in is either cross threaded or stripped. What do I need to do to fix this? I've been looking for a thread chaser to try an re align the threads but can't find any that will fit the 16mm thread. Does anyone know where I can buy something to try an fix this? Or any suggestions as to possible fixes?

There is a kit available to repair the threads. I can't remember who sells it. An internet search should turn up at least one solution for you.

Is the plug just sitting in the hole? Are you sure it will come out and that the bottom half isn't seized in the head? If it's seized in the head then there is a kit for that too.

If only the top half of stripped/cross threaded you could use a backtap threader. Internet search should find what you are looking for.
