How old is the fuel filter? Long-shot but could be an inexpensive easy fix.

well got the pump swapped out at my cousines shop, didnt even need a lift. just pulled it out through the top slapped the new one in and primmed it and it started right up.

course i went to go put fuel in it and as a i was pumping i noticed it was leaking a pretty good amount of gas. didnt have the locking ring on the front side closest to the front of the car. luckily i had the tools in my car and tapped the ring in place and locked properly...

nothing says fun then working in a puddle of gasoline taping on metal parts with a screwdriver and hammer lol.

so i'm reviving this thread, my problem has returned after putting in an 07 fuel pump with only 10k miles on it. stalled about 5 times randomly even when just sitting idle mainly. once while crusing.

my questions are:

can a bad fpdm cause the "miles remaining to fill up" be off?

can and does the fpdm intermintently fail when it's dieing?

what are the symptoms of a dieing fpdm?

would a check engine light come up if it was the fpdm?

so i finally think i have resolved my stalling issue, the fpdm was dieing.

i noticed something very weird and didnt think it was it til i replaced my fuel pump but..

when my car was filled to say half a tank it would say i only had roughly 85 miles til empty. after finally replacing the fpdm it read that i had almost 150 which is about what it should be. i'm not sure others with a dieing fpdm have had this symptom as i havent seen it talked about so might be a goods heads up for those wondering.

anywho i have an entire new fuel system now basically fpdm, pump ect.

150 miles to empty? That's not right. Edit: Didn't see the half tank part. There is a chance that the transfer pump isn't working right or isn't hooked up.

Just went through an issue similar to what you are describing. Car was stalling like crazy at every stop, throwing odd codes. I threw the book at the thing: Replaced the Alternator and the battery, pulled the throttle body off even though it looked clean and installed a bigger alternator wire. Runs awesome now, no stalling (Knock on wood before I jinx myself). I would look at cleaning the TB first, then battery, then the alternator (And just so you know there ought to be a special places reserved in hell for whatever genius engineer thought of that location for an alternator)

Good luck.
