Starter wiring

During my engine swap I removed the battery, starter and alternator cables planning ahead on upgrading them during the swap. Apparently I didn't plan very well because I can't remember how they were all connected. I know there is a positive wire coming off of the alternator to the positive on the battery and a positive cable going to the main fuse box. I also know there is a coming from the passenger strut tower and I believe is connected to the negative battery terminal and if I correct the passenger engine mount bolt? I have searched the forums in case anyone asks and I have tried looking at both the ford and Haynes tech manuals but can't find a good diagram or description. Any help would be great.

I attached a few diagrams of the systems you are referring to and what the connectors look like.

Large Pos battery cable goes to: Starter Motor & Junction Box
Small Pos battery cable goes to : Alternator

Battery Ground cable goes to: Strut tower & Engine Mount

Thank you guys very much. At the end of the engine harness directly after the ac compressor connector there is a pigtail connector. Is that what goes to the third terminal on the starter to tell it to engage when the ignition is engaged?

You've got 2 cables that go to the starter a constant hot and a hot when the starter solenoid is closed. If the cable you are thinking goes to the starter and it looks like one of the two in this diagram, test it. It's the only way to know. No one knows what your talking about unless you take a picture of the wire you're confused about.

OK I finally have some pictures of that wire harness I have been trying to figure out and the ring terminal at the end of the engine harnese.

OK so I figured out that the loop at the end of the wiring harness after the ac compressor is indeed for the starter. One wire goes directly to the battery and the other to that loop.
