Hey guys I've been trying to find this vibration in my steering wheel. This started a couple months ago I just haven't driven it much since but the steering wheel shakes at speeds over 60mph. It doesn't happen all the time this why I think it may be a wear item possibly. When I'm in turns it doesn't vibrate at all but when it comes out it'll start shaking again. It shakes more often then not.

I have a BMR K member, AArms and so on, koni yellows, ground control conversion springs and GT500 mounts. It has been on the alignment rack twice and when I took it back the 2nd time and the passenger side toe was out some even after it being in spec the first time. I have also had the front tires rebalanced twice.

I remember when I installed the k member passenger side inner tie rod seemed to shift or I pulled it a little when I put the tie rod back into the spindle. If you need more info ask away. My next step is a true set of CC plates and getting rid of the GT500 mounts and a passenger inner tie rod unless you guys have suggestions.

The vibration started after the k member. The tires were on prior. I mean I guess it's possible but it didn't vibrate prior.

When I swapped in my T56 Magnum transmission I had a new vibration that I swore was the driveshaft. JPC paid to ship my driveshaft back to Dynotech and checked. It was perfect so they sent it back (at no cost to me). Ended up being a belt separating in my 6 month old tire.

Often times, installing K/Arms will make issues that you have, noticeable, when they once were not.

The OEM K/Arms absorb many noises and vibrations - very well.

It could be a number of things. Are the Arms relatively newer? Were they used? Check the ball joints when you get a chance, just to ensure they do not have excessive slop.

The whole k member set up is new. So nothing up front is used except tge steering rack. It's not a NVH issue it's an actual like shake in the steering wheel. I got my new wheels at the same time but I got a tool from my father in law today so I can check and see if they are bent. I'll measure them this Thurs or Fri to see if that is a possibility.

I've seen it mentioned on other threads with vibrations to check for the factory rotor retaining clips. Apparently many aftermarket wheels don't have a little recess to account for those that the OEM ones do. Often that is the issue. It's a simple, cheap thing to check.

First the question. Did you get a full alignment after installing the k-member?

Personal experiences next. After installing a k-member, you're taking away the "grandma" level of NVH (noise, vibration, harshness) and stiffening up the engine mounts. I had the same experience and have been experimenting with different densities and thicknesses of neoprene to lessen the NVH.

So far, I haven't found a balance between feel and durability. The last material I've tried is still in my car and has lasted nearly 45 days and seems to be holding up. I've been through 16 different materials so far and though some have lasted longer than 45 days, there wasn't a noticeable decrease.

It's not a NVH issue it's a legitimate like shake in the wheel. My arm will shake when holding the wheel with one hand so it's not a NVH it's to aggressive I think for that.

I'll do this friday.

silly question, but were the wheels balanced when you got the tires mounted?

^^ I don't know if this would cause the intermittent problems he was having, but it's easy to check

Tie rod sounds like a good candidate.

How old are the A-Arms? Kelly helped me out w/ a steering wheel shake last year that turned out to be defective ball joints. I got mine in 2011, and had the issue. They switched suppliers in later production runs that eliminated the problem. PM Kelly for more info.

Other things to check for would be the bushings on the BMR arms. Mine distorted after a couple years of use and were allowing significant play.

The a arms are brand new. I bought the entire k member and supports new about 6 months ago. I just haven't had the opportunity to drive it and really dig into finding the issue until the end of this week.
