Straight pipes, no H/X?

Has anybody done it? I've heard a few (old) cars that sound amazing that way, know it won't make every horsepowers possible, but would a coyote make better or worse noises than the stock H? Or just like stock but without that bit that looks like the tinman chubbed the exhaust in the middle?

THe popping and banging that goes with it on decal is not worth hacking up stainless steel factory set up to remove the crossover.

Those crossovers on our cars are there for a reason. Back a couple decades ago, someone figured out that if they were to equalize the pressure by allowing a slight area where the gases could "crossover" if the pressures so dictated, you would gain a much better equalization of back pressure on both sides of the V-setup engine. V6, V8, V10 and so on, they found that when the pressures are equal on both sides of the engine, they got better exhaust scavenging and thus, picked up some power.

There was a huge aftermarket exhaust shop movement of detecting where best to place a crossover section in the exhaust. Once it was a proven "free" power maker, car companies started building it into their cars.

I'd be willing to bet you that going with straight pipes on the Coyote engine would lower your torque.

Bullitt mid pipes have a "washer" inside the H. It has a 3/8s hole and blocks off most of the exhaust flow. It gives the exhaust more of a straight pipe burble without affecting power. You could cut your H in half and put a metal disc in there with a hole in the center to simulate it.
