Definitely not the exact same as ours, but it does appear to be a replication of our design. I remember many years ago, other companies bashing us for our design too...saying it was "too weak". Now, they've all gone to the BMR design, it seems.
On that note, we simply couldn't price our bars at that level. I would never say it won't work, or that it is "bad"....but we cannot afford to sell them for $75, that's all.
I am sure that bar will treat you just fine.
A few differences you may discover when comparing that bar you linked/pics...would be, we pride ourselves in our products designs...and also, form + function. If you take a close up look at our components, we try to add the highest level of function and great looks, every step of the way.
For example, our center adjuster. We don't just make it work, but we make it look superior. Instead of straight cuts on our pieces, we like to roll edges for looks and ease of use.
On the bushing ends, we use our own bushings that we completely design in house. This cost us more actually, because we do not call up Energy, Prothane, etc and just tell them "we need a bushing to fit this application" We design it from scratch, and also test various durometers for each application. The PHR in the pic above, likely has an 80-85 durometer bushing, but we believe in the stiffest bushing possible on a PHR, so we spec out 95 for ours.
We also add additional steps to the process, like beveling the edges of the bushings - again, for better looks AND ease of use. The beveled edges make installation easier.
Then you have the "small things that count" - like, we zinc coat
everything. You will not get a single part from us that isn't coated. Many of the lesser cost items on the market will feature a bunch of parts that do not have any coating, and do not stand to various weather conditions well. Also, we provide a 90 degree grease fitting (also zinc coated) on the driver side bushing end, so the user does not have to unbolt the bar to lubricate the bushings. Not sure of the bar above, but you would be surprised how many brands do not do this.
Sorry for the novel - I just want the readers to understand why we cannot and do not sell our products for the same price as other brands, who's product may look "just like" ours.
Again, I think your PHR will work just fine...and is likely a great product. I am also happy to see that it says it is made 100% in the US.
