Run a TVS2300 blower same blower used on the p-51 cars and the compression ratio is 8.6:1 on the p-51 cars

The lower compression 4v engines are almost a full liter larger....comparing apples to oranges in my opinion.

agreed.. just run the smallest pulley on the SC and enjoy it. Later you can send to another tuner after you check up on things that might help you get more hp.

I do think my tunes have alot to do with my problem. I am about afraid to tell this one on myself......Well get the tourch and start the fire....I am still running the email tune from brenspeed for my factory 4.6 So maybe the timing is a little on the Way safe side for the 8.7 compression. Again I haven't drove the car hardly any due to snow and shit loads of salts on the WV roads so dyno tuning is being put off till at least March or April....

Just think about the Roush P51 cars with guys making 600-700 rwhp. I don't think they have an issue with the compression. Once it gets tuned I'm sure you'll be loving it.

one thing you are not taking into account is your 4.56 gear ratio i see in your sig. the more aggressive of a gear you go with, the more it eats up the numbers on the dyno. it doesnt mean the power is lost, it just means that the dyno isnt reading it. You actually have more rwhp then what the dyno is showing but because of the gears its not reading it but it is indeed there. So say if you have stock gear ratio in the car or say 3.73's those numbers would be more depending on application. like mentioned previously, its only a tuning tool. having a quality tuner is the best way to start off.

i dont think gears have anything to do with rwhp. all they do is go thru the rpms faster, and power stays the same. you may lose slightly in top speed but your hp is the same.

And that makes the Engine & stock SC combo even smaller or less efficient than the combo the OP has, and in top of that its a roots type not TS.

5.4 Engine - 2.1 SC

IMO theres more to go in the tune to make it chime as it should.

You think wrong. 4.10 gears will show less HP on the same car and dyno then if you had 3.73 and 4.56 will show less hp then 4.10 gears all other things being equal.

So would the only way to find the TRUE HP of an engine would be to take it out and put it on an engine dyno? So that way you don't have to deal with all the various things that make up drive-train loss and whatnot.

It doesnt seem like the numbers are that far off, but there are many variables you havent told us also. I would look further into the tune...but what do I know. Also are you running longtubes or stock manifolds?

re read my post so you understand what i am saying. The OP is bummed that the numbers on the dyno are low and in my post i stated the effect they have on the numbers SHOWING UP on the DYNO. i said nothing of the sort of power being lost or affected, i said that it eats up the numbers ON THE DYNO.

No kidding, just take the car to the track and see if it is faster with the smaller pulley on the SC.

If I'm being told that the smaller pulley is exceeding the efficiency range of the supercharger and could cause damage, then I'm not going to throw it on and risk blowing my motor up!!

Not that this means anything but wasnt JIMIII running 20LBS boost with his E-Force?

Here is the dyno sheet. I am using factory manifolds, my other mods are listed in my signature, other than that I'm pretty much stock. I am not saying I am disappointed that I only made the HP that I did, I am disappointed that, if true, the Edelbrock supercharger I just dropped $6k on won't provide enough air. I thought the new Eaton Gen 6 TVS rotors would handle a lot more. It's not like I'm using an aftermarket pulley, this pulley is provided by Edelbrock for this supercharger, and it's too much for it? Just doesn't seem right.

Just found out I was doing 15lbs of boost and it dropped to 7-8 when I exceeded the efficiency range. I know the total boost has to do with how the motor is set up, but how did he get to 20 lbs? I know that I did not build a more free flowing engine than JDM Engineering, especially with POS factory manifolds, stock heads, and stock cams on it!!
