Switching to 2011+ brakes

i watched a video that said I can upgrade the front brakes on my car from 10.5 to 13.5 inch by getting 2011+ GT rotors and calipers....? Is that true? Any other info I might need to know? Thanks!!!

I don't think even the V6 cars had 10.5" front or rear brakes.
If you can find take off parts, the swap is probably worth doing.

I know ‘14 GT front brake calipers and rotors swapped directly onto my ‘07 GT/CS. Just use the brackets and bolts from the newer brakes.

I did this on my 09. All I ordered was Ford part number BRBC11 and 2011+ front rotors (non Brembo). Was an easy bolt on, and they fit just fine behind the stock Bullitt 18" rims.

Awesome...so it’s a 12.4 to 13.25 upgrade and all I need are 2011+ GT calipers & brackets. Thanks for the info!!

No, all you need is 2011+ rotors and brackets. You reuse your original calipers.

I used takeoff ‘14 GT calipers, rotors, and pads (anyone remember Darren/ultraclassic?
They were like new, his car only had 334 miles after two years and he took them off soon after he got it! Lol)
My old calipers were pretty shot!

As others have said, this is easy/cheap to do. Honestly, though... It ended up being an “appearance mod” for me, as I haven’t tracked the car. If you want a larger rotor, this does give you that. But if you are open to holding out for an actual Brembo upgrade, you’ll save yourself double-spending like I did.

I wanted the brembos, but I'd have to get new rims, which wasn't acceptable for me, as I really like my stock bullitts.

I understand this. I haven’t actually listed my Bullitts for sale yet... I’d love to find something equivalent that would fit over the Brembos.

I am referring to these. I have heard them called Bullitt rims by others. I really like them on my car. In fact, I have thought about getting them widened to 10" so I can run something bigger than a 255.

yes, those are the ones I was referencing, had them on my 06GT and loved them, no one makes an equivalent rim in another size. I ran a 265/40/18 MT ET Street on mine.

Hmm... I took my factory front brembo calipers and rotors off my 2011 GT500pp not all that long after I got it to put on racing stuff from StopTech when they put on the Cortex suspension. Maybe I should gather them up and post them as I didn't know they would be of interest.

Nope, but can get Chinese 18"ers over the Brembos
(think they make same one's in chrome if that's what you like).
These are 18 X 9/10 with 255/295's.

Close, but fits (did add 5mm spacer, but that leaves plenty to keep it hub centric and still plenty of stud engagement). I also "adopted" stock 18 GT wheel center (ground off back) glued to center cap that came with rims.

I wanted 18's as I didn't want super low sidewalls for some of the crappy
roads around here.

yes, those are similar, but they are not the same design as the stock bullits, that's the point of my comments
